pandarilla Posted November 15, 2015 Share Posted November 15, 2015 It would be utterly inconceivable for any country not to react the way the USA did to 9/11 (at least any country with a military capable of projecting power). A government that was seen to do nothing, or even just methodically assessing the situation would fall in the face of public outrage. Bin Laden really set the perfect trap. By seeming to deliberately invoke NATO article 5 in his speech and promising merciless vengeance, it looks like Hollande and France might be making the same mistake. Surely getting bin laden should've been the top priority? The public didn't seem to mind too much that the government basically gave up on him and concocted a bullshit story linking bad things with that bad man Saddam.
