Sherrif John Bunnell
Another new party has entered the scene. This time it's a pro-Indy, centre right party. They seem to be aiming for the old school SNP "Tartan Tories" votes. They probably won't amount to much, but it's good to see a non left party that is pro Independence. http://www.thenational.scot/politics/new-scottish-libertarian-party-set-to-launch-and-call-for-independence.10658?utm_medium=social&utm_source=Twitter&utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_term=Autofeed#link_time=1448967929
Kyle
A right wing, pro-independence party who back an EU exit? Interesting. I actually think the yes campaign as a whole needed a right wing voice during the referendum and this would certainly provide one going forward. Curious to see how this develops, although I think it'll be difficult for them to get any real traction in 2016. Could be useful for the next go at independence though. ICTChris
They ran in the Leith Walk council by-election, came last with 17 votes. I don't think libertarian parties really work.

I'm sure a libertarian party ran in the Anderston Ward council by elections too and came home with similar numbers, Not sure if it was this lot or not. ScotSquid
Is this maybe a follow on from Business for Scotland? They provided a sort of right wing voice during the ref last year.
Granny Danger
Bunch of right wing tossers by the looks of it. If these folk are around at the time of the next election (and I doubt it) I wouldn't want to be sharing a common platform with them.
Mr Rational
One of them is down on record as saying that paying taxes is equal to rape. Then again, it was a mate in the SSP who posted it up earlier so maybe a pinch of salt with that one.

In my experience they tend to be absolutely looney tunes.

Do you not think there is a need for there to be a far larger right-wing voice in the pro-Indy campaign? I'm not suggesting that it's these people as I know nothing about them. But I certainly don't think it helps when independence is regarded as solely an issue of the left.
Sloop John B
The word Libertarian is exclusively used by people like Reynard so they will be more even more of an irrelevance than the Greens, UKIP and the Lib Dems combined.

Glenconner
All a bit sad. Tiny groups on the Scottish Right with candidates that come from the poorest parts of Scotland. Still at least they aren't Nawbag Unionists.

Independence is completely seperate to Left/Right politics, to me it is an issue that stands apart. Whilst I am not a natural supporter of the SNP, I am happy to lend my support at them moment. When we get independence then I will vote for an alternative but there is no point in splitting the independence vote IMO.

If the entire Labour Movement as against the Labour Party had been won over then it would have been a victory. Very few on the right of politics voted YES. The problem was not enough working class bought into the story. A Scottish Free State didn't do it for a lot of people. And in turn their bottles crashed. No, right wing people are c***s by definition. Independence is completely seperate to Left/Right politics, to me it is an issue that stands apart. Totally agree with this and with the whole post; it reflects my position too - I am a socialist not a nationalist. Of course, that said, right wing people are c***s by definition. Mr Rational
No, right wing people are c***s by definition. I used to get fed sandwiches by the 'blue rinsed brigade' of Tory grannies up in Kinross on polling day. Decent sandwiches as well, so I won't say that 'all' are bad. I'm easy to bribe
Granny Danger
How incredibly narrow-minded of you. Not that I tend to expect much else, of course. It's not narrow minded. Tory ideology is based on greed and self interest. To say that folk who are right wing are c***s is not narrow minded, it's to say that their believes are untenable.
