ecto
The Bob Servant books and Twitter account are great, its just a bit of a shame that it didn't really work on TV. Problem with the TV version was Brian Cox, terrific actor, just hammed it up

DA Baracus
My favourite, the France 98 special, including the brilliant song (at about 22.20), although the sound is a second or so behind the video;
DA Baracus
Just watching the above. Amusing. However the upload is fucked in a few places, mainly 6/7th minutes and 8th-10th minute. But it's still very much worth a watch. Alistair McGowan is brilliant and Jonathan Watson is very amusing (shocking statement these days, but back then his impressions were fairly relevant and since he was younger he was more physically believable). Sound goes out of sync around the 19/20. Edited January 27, 2019 by DA Baracus

Can’t mind the guys name but he played Jamesy Cotter in Rab C Nesbitt, is there a reason he doesn’t appear in the more recent showings?

He used to have other folk involved as well but it's been a very long time since anyone other than Watson was involved.

I think getting other people involved will be the only way to save it, there’s plenty of Scottish comedy talent out there that could freshen it up.

Aye but that doesn't seem likely. It's a lost cause now.

The show practically writes itself.

The show practically writes itself. The thing is it's been watered down over the years...less and less fitba sketches. It's now Scotland's pre-bells Hogmanay show..and they seem to want to please the whole family..but end up pleasing no fecker.

zenon
Thought the 2018 edition was miles better than the 2017 one helped by bringing back more football sketches although still a far cry from it's 90s heyday. McLeish accidentally reading out the Women's Scotland squad my favourite sketch of the show.
