Why is someone who lives in Scunthorpe any more affected by immigration to London or Birmingham than someone who lives in Inverness?

Riots haven't been in the country as a whole. They have been in areas with less ethnic diversity.

Hull, Aldershot, Sunderland, Hartlepool all >90% white.

Glasgow is more diverse by a long way. Even Edinburgh is a bit more diverse. Also outside England, Cardiff (no trouble) is about 80% white.

People who haven't direct experience of immigrants are more likely to dehumanise them and believe the scare stories about innundation by benefir hungry rapists. People who have direct experience are more likely to see co workers, friends and members of their community.

It's not generally the immigrants that are the problem.

Scunthorpe, Hull, Sunderland and elsewhere have been badly hit by austerity and before that de-industrialisation by Thatcher but the people responsible for their hardship are able to point the finger at desperate people trying to cross the channel and they are stupid enough to believe them.

Most of the towns and cities affected in recent days have high levels of deprivation and above average levels of asylum seeker housing, according to analysis of Home Office statistics.

I seem to recall that councils used to (still do?) get money for every asylum seeker they house which led to some being housed in absolute dumps in the worst areas - the Red Road flats in Glasgow were a good example. I spoke to the people running a volunteers centre there about 15 years ago and they said the locals made things hellish for the asylum seekers.

As a percentage of population it's about 10% for Scotland and 14% for England and Wales that are 'foreign born', or non UK.

27% England 7% Scotland

Are you saying that 27% of England's population weren't born in the UK?

It looks like you've just made this up m8.

The rioters voted for that. I've some sympathy for the underclass rioters and its apparent they're now facing the brunt of the state backlash. They're the easiest to go after as they've often got prior convictions. However, many of the rioters in these areas you mention were working class not underclass. They're just committed fascists. I'm all for persuasion and trying to win folk over but there's a minority who are just the enemy. They're true believers rather than temporarily misguided.

You get class traitor fash in every society, even where you'd least expect it, eg.

You added the words or non uk

The original post hasn't been edited in any way, but please carry on pretending not to understand the difference between people who weren't actually born on this island (roughly 14% (in England and Wales)at the last census as clearly stated in the post) and those who don't identify as white British.

Jesus wept, added to your sentence after foreign born, never said you altered your post
