Would be good if they could replace the ancient shite that operates on the Glasgow to Carlisle line.

Wouldn't hold your breath. They renewed the lease recently (but I can't mind until when). They aren't the comfiest for passengers, especially since they made the seats thinner a few years back, but they're probably the most reliable of the fleet. Very rare anything major goes wrong with them.

ScotRail's old high-speed trains to be replaced

I'll be glad to see the back of them. Had a number of journeys on them where they never managed to leave the station and you had to switch to a different train. I remember one trip from Aberdeen to Dundee there was an announcement saying there was no working toilets on board so if you need to go then you'd have to get off at Dundee and wait for the next train.

It was quite a strange decision at the time to take on the old HST sets I think. I appreciate they can't get electric units to do the routes but they were old trains and they spent a lot refurbishing them. They did look nice inside tbf and the wee humorous touches went down well with passengers but it seemed a big price to pay for trains that were never going to last too long?

They are cross between a train and a berry bus. Plus they are freezing.
