Mr Sugden
Is it just me or Glory Glory to the Hibees got me almost as emotional at Hampden as SOL did. What a time to be alive this is I've never been a fan of clubs continuing to play these old Hector Nicol tunes as they sound awful. But I'm like you on this occasion. You could tell everyone couldn't wait to get to that line. I too thought it was "see" rather than "say" for years.
GordonD
I've never been a fan of clubs continuing to play these old Hector Nicol tunes as they sound awful. We always used to stop at a pub in Moffat when we were going to Dumfries. The jukebox had a Hector Nicol record - one side was "Hearts, Hearts, Glorious Hearts" and the other was "Glory, Glory to the Hibees". However no doubt with malicious aforethought the barman had put it in the wrong way round, so that whatever song you picked you got the other one! As Meadowbank Thistle supporters we didn't care but we liked to imagine the fury of a pub full of Jambos finding themselves listening to the Hibs song, or the other way round!
Zing.
Any news on the **** banning fans for invading the pitch and attacking innocent Hibees? Thought not.

GordonD
Hector Timothy Nicol, out to get the **** like every other jealous person of them in the country. My favourite Hector Nicol story - and I don't want to know if it turns out not to be true - was the time he was appearing at a Catholic social club. He was in his dressing room getting ready for the show when the club chairman came in. "I hope you'll give us a good show tonight, Hector," said the chairman. "We need cheering up because we had a break-in last night and all the fags and booze were stolen." "Sorry to hear that," said Hector. "I'll do my best." So he came out on stage and said, "Hello, I'm Hector Nicol. I was sorry to hear about your break-in." And he pointed up at the big crucifix on the wall. "But at least you caught the guy and dealt with him." And they threw him out on his arse.
Myview
I've been quiet since the final rather like Mark Warburton. First of all congratulations to Hibs they thoroughly deserved their victory. Stubbs tactics and Hibs players performances spot on. As I posted prior to the final I was fairly sure that they would go with a 3-5-2 as it worked well at the previous match v Rangers. Warburton didn't have a plan B however slightly in Warburton's defence he neither had the players on the park or bench to change Rangers formation to stop Hibs dominating. Embaressing defending at the corners however the quality from Henderson's delivery and both headers were 10/10. I suppose I have to comment on the pitch incident. Imo the whole episode was embarrassing, shameful and disgraceful and it was disappointing for the Hibs players not to enjoy the usual 'lap of honour'. I'm past caring who should take most of the blame, however, anyone who got involved should be severely dealt with from, depending on the incident, prison or bans from future matches. I'm taking nothing away from Hibs however I think we should be careful how and when we use the word 'legend(s)'. Inverness, StJohnstone, Hearts, Celtic and Dundee Utd have all won the Scottish Cup in recent years. Are they legends? Not imo. Muhammad Ali is a legend. RIP. As for Hibs fans enjoy and celebrate the win for as long as you wish that's what winning cups is all about. -

All those players and the manager are Hibs legends. I really don't see why other clubs supporters views on the matter count because it's got absolutely nothing to do with you who Hibs fans say is a legend to us.

He will laugh his head off! You have every right to call whoever you want a legend. I appreciate you are still in celebration mode. As said enjoy it and good luck with your promotion quest next season. I genuinely hope Hibs get promoted.
