CLYDE FC season 16/17 Thread

Doh. And to think it was me who asked whose sister was married to Jim Goodwin.

He was one of few positives from that early couple of seasons in this league. Good footballer who struggled playing with absolute garbage.

Michael Oliver played over 30 games for the Colts last season. If he can keep fit he will be a superb signing as there is little doubt he was heading for big things prior to his injury.Presumably this signals the end of McQueens days with Clyde?

I quite liked Michael Oliver at Clyde - he was indeed signed as a striker, from an amateur team I believe, and went on to play in just about every outfield position. I didn't think he was particularly a stand out in any of them, but he was in two utterly guff teams and had his most consistent run in a defence comprising him and Iain Gray at CB with a 90 year old Lee Sharp and Gavin Brown on either side.

I would be happy enough with Michael Oliver signing. Never particularly a standout, but I remember him as putting in a solid enough shift wherever he played within some utterly rubbish teams. Hopefully, he will have kicked on a bit too since his last spell with us too.

If nothing else, he would add some strength in depth to the squad.
