IIRC the Paisley puddle drinkers on here used to go on about some game where they brought a big crowd to Fir Park about 40 years ago. Small time.

Was good for a laugh at the time though especially when he claimed there were 15000 Midden fans in the ground that day which wouldn't have left any room for us.

There were officially 26,709 fans that day. Many more kids probably got in via lift overs at the turnstyles as was the norm in those days. Were you there? I was. Your team kicked anything that moved that day in a black and white strip. http://www.stmirrenprogrammes.co.uk/StMirren/STM_Match_Details.php?Season=1976&GameID=197702260 I have no idea what your home attendances were that year, but that must surely be one of your highest. Maybe you can provide evidence to the contrary.

Two visits by Rangers only managed 15,000 each game https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1976–77_Rangers_F.C._season When you beat Celtic to Fir Park in April 1977 you managed less than 14,000. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1976–77_Celtic_F.C._season Face facts. We brought a massive support that day. There were over 4,000 locked out.

That’s why there was a huge crowd at Fir Park.

Anyways have you not got a semi final to look forward to.

Hospital records or even death notices as this singular event swept through Paisley? And have you considered it was more of a Cup Pandemic with motherwell also falling foul due to our 3-0 win over Kilmarnock?
