Even in the games he did start he showed nothing to suggest Wright should have been after him as persistently. Conversely the panic signing of Tanser, who was dubbed the worst player ever at a League 1 team, had now turned solid and actually a good player for us. He's grown into a very good player for us though and is of a similar age to Wright. Coulson was obviously much older, had problems with persistent groin injuries for over a year before he signed for Saints (I found an interview from around the time he signed a pre-contract where he said he felt he wasn't fit and was shocked he'd received an offer from a club so high up the ladder ). That comparison would only work if Thomson had played 140 matches, and in all but 2 league matches for us in the previous season. Stop being negative, Radford.
