Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread

Ali Crawford signed until summer 2024.
Jack Wills has signed until 2024 too.

confirmation from the club that Dendoncker has returned to Brighton too.

I have nothing positive to say about Crawford so I’ll leave it at that, Wills being tied up can only be a good thing though, seems very highly regarded at the club.

That signing tweet already 😂😂 you cuntos are way above your station 😂

Not really. We’re the 2nd most successful team in Scotland over the last decade and we rightly expect better than a two-year contract for someone who has put in one above-average performance since he joined the club.

Imagine being given considerable funds, having recruitment tools every other Saints manager could only dream of, then just asking big Ange if he has anyone he'll give you on loan and deciding that's the best option.

Ffs who is it now?

Got some snacks ready to go read Twitter now.

Wonder who Callum Davidson will blame for this?

Be Boydy’s fault this time for organising the contract he wanted organised for Crawford.

Any comments from him on the signing statement?

It honestly needs justified. Not just signing him permanently but handing him such a long contract. Just an all round horrendous bit of business.

Astoundingly bad bit of business. Probably the worst I can remember.

Always felt you could anticipate who Saints would give new deals to and who they wouldn't and, if anything, you were sometimes left surprised by who they released (Vine, Cregg, Hasselbaink etc...) or even who they paid off early. Guys like McDonald and Paton were very ordinary but were playing, yet Tommy Wright cut them to improve the squad.

This is so far the other way. I'm not sure how you'd even go about trying to justify or describe it.

Dan Cleary, Ali Crawford on a permanent deal, Liam Shaw on loan, a really young or really decrepit LB back-up, Cammy MacPherson on a permanent deal, Callum Hendry being brought back, and a last-minute wide attacking loanee/free agent after failing to secure our preferred targets. That will be our transfer window, won't it?

Who does the game analysis at Mcdiarmid? Who looks at Crawford's stats and output and comes to the conclusion that he is exactly what Saints need for the next 2 and a half years? Then hangs a young player out to dry for daring to try a flick 45 yards from goal. The first team coaching staff at Saints don't know what they're doing.
