Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread

Feel so sorry for Ferguson, been absolutely shafted by this decision to play him at right back. Already looks like his confidence is gone.

Not sure why I paid to watch this on PPV. It’s exactly what I expected it to be.

Dunfermline commentators reckon our line-up is almost exactly the same line-up that we ended the league season with btw.

Your stream jumpy or just mine?

Not a great start. Struggled with that big Jamie McCart type diagonal.

Why play Ferguson at right back and McGowan in midfield it makes no sense.

Im not going to get too upset by friendlies as they don’t tend to mean a thing, but the fact we’ve got 7 first team players out injured already is mental. What the f**k have they been doing.

He looks stinking albeit may be crocked now

Hes a 19yo central midfielder whos never played above League Two (bar the odd sub appearance), whos likely never played right back in a senior game before, and whos left isolated as our right winger becomes a 2nd striker a lot of the time.

Im not sure what the manager expected to happen.

We have a more natural right back in midfield, FWIW.

Aye the manager has just sunk his confidence.

Great goal

Thought we started poorly but improved markedly after we scored. Wright and May linking up well, some nice passing and quicker tempo in midfield and Gallacher might have something to offer the squad too.

Parker and Steven both showing up well, Ferguson hung out to dry but hopefully he'll bounce back quickly (both in terms of confidence and from his injury).

Looks good ahead of the inevitable play off against this lot next May.

Parker looked good i think, certainly hasnt struggled too much anyway, and Steven impressing too. Ferguson shafted by starting at RB.

Ballantyne showed up well in a deeper CM role, if he could can do that in the top flight then that adaptability is huge if we're going with a smaller squad.

Guess its hard to balance keeping costs down with youngsters bulking up the squad, or doing whats best for their development and loaning them out. Unsure how many can do this week in, week out, in the top flight.
