I watched him v Jeanfield last season. Admittedly was just a friendly but for being 16/17 he was one of the better ones on the pitch. Glad to see him getting a chance so far,

Young lads really are impressing every time they get a chance in pre-season.

Hadnt really been aware of McCrystal before this Summer but he looks a great prospect.

A workmate of mine coached him and told me to look out for him as he rated him.

Be good if they could get a chance in competitive games, and then impress.

Just seemed a real fearlessness from the youngsters. Sometimes you get them come in and just play safe stuff because they don't want to make a mistake, we had CBs dribbling out under pressure and yer man ripping the absolute pish out of folk when he could have easily just panicked and hoped and aimless cross met someone.

Its his size that stands out a bit, too. Looked huge on the park and could use it.

I'm an absolute sucker for CMs who love spraying the ball about too so watching him ragdoll someone then spray a pinpoint diagonal was just delicious.

Just 17yo FFS.

Was he wide right? Couldn’t watch the second half so missed all the fun stuff.

2nd half set up seemed to be...

Sinclair

Ellison - Klimionek - Parker - Booth

Steven - Franczak - McCrystal - Ferguson - Crawford

Mylchreest

Cheers, I take it Ferguson was a lot more comfortable than last week.

Second half team played in the way I think Maclean wants the first team to play. They had the legs and energy to get about the pitch and do it whereas I'm not sure the ones that started the game did (which is a bit worrying as only really McGowan, Considine and Carey could say it's not a good fit for them at this stage of their respective careers).

A worrying first half but a really encouraging second I'd say. We certainly seem to have a good crop of young players all coming through together.
