Baxter's Nutmeg
In all seriousness it’s a bold statement by the club, and one that could backfire on them if they don’t back it up on the park. craigiemack
Is this backing just for one season or will it be continuous? At least it’s people close to the club so they won’t leave it in a bad state if it goes wrong

Whatever happens in the future, all the best to East Stirlingshire, have a lot of good memories of visiting Firs Park.

No sure where they'd have played but they will forever be remembered for having an absolute tosser of a steward when they played at ochilview.

It’s been common knowledge for a while, Andy Rodgers has been telling every player he has tried to sign for next season they had a big investment coming.
Nimmo's Notes
Funnily enough, it was Andy who told me about it in the Bluebell, months ago! Had an idea, right enough, as Harry had been down at training to talk to Del and Andy, the Thursday before.
peternapper
Hope it works out for the Shire in the long term, their supporters must be due something to cheer about. Andy Rodgers left us with some good memories at Peterhead.

Technically yes on being in Grangemouth, but it's on the Falkirk side of the motorway and it's reasonably close to where the old Shire park used to be, so I always found it surprising that this didn't happen sooner. Can remember being at Shire games in the 80s when the main talking point was whether to move to the athletics stadium in Grangemouth. That has sometimes been viewed as the most viable alternative.
peternapper
Remember being at Grangemouth Stadium for a pre-season game with us, not the best for watching football but would have been better than nothing. As for Awfulview nothing wrong with the set up but the one steward seemed to want to spoil it for everyone, don't know the rental agreement details but cant have been easy for the Shire during that period.
Nimmo's Notes
They used to charge us for opening the pie hut and the wee bar under the stand and of course, for the privilege, all the profits were theirs. Graeme, who ran the bar, used to do it for nothing, great guy. When he heard Shire were getting charged £90 to open the bar, he stopped doing it.
Neilly
Hopefully enough investment for a top 4 finish in the Lowland league next season lads. Get you in the Champions League at least.
HibeeJibee
Given their last 2 games are against Spartans and BSCG it's not impossible 'Shire could face a fight to finish top half. You must say this is a marvellous season for little Civil Service Strollers. They are now joint 3rd and 1pt behind 2nd - although they themselves finish with Spartans, Kelty and Cumbernauld. If they do finish 4th lets hope it's rewarded with a place in the Scottish Challenge Cup. Edited March 15, 2019 by HibeeJibee
