League One Prediction 2016/17

Recommended Posts

It's easy to see why most folk had Stranraer and Peterhead up there in play-off positions or at least chasing them. Minimal changes to their squads and the same managers, you expect teams like that to perform at around the same level as the previous season.

Keeping a squad motivated is clearly a huge part of management though and it's something that's impossible for fans (or anybody) to predict at the start of the season, and it's much more difficult to judge than whether a manager's getting tactics or team selection etc correct. And in a competitive league where most games are close, even a slight drop in that collective motivation is going to have you shedding important points in a lot of close games. Maybe it's the case that the relative continuity of personnel at these clubs is leading to a bit of stagnation.

Even with all our injury problems, you get the impression the squad was really pulling together in adversity before Barry Smith took over and have been able to continue that. Coming from behind to win tough games, grinding out wins when we're not playing well. Everyone seems fully committed and it's paying off. It's no surprise that's exactly the kind of thing folk are saying about the season so far's unexpected over-achievers - Queen's Park.

I quite agree bold rover our players are decent but we  have poor strikers and that's the problem.Sacking Reid is not the answer at this point of the season, but he needs to find two decent strikers ASAP.

Just signed Craig Pettigrew again , now I'm a fan of Pettigrew but we have Barron and Robertson so don't quite get the signing.

Why?Barron injury prone,Mckeown nothing like the player he was. Surely a sensible signing to give us defencive cover.

Completely understandable that we'll be favourites to go back down with many people. Underdog suits us just fine, though. We've a solid, hard working group of lads and an excellent manager. We may or may not go down, but we certainly won't be a walkover.

Telt yeez.
