Well done Queens. It appears when you have a good season, we have a bad season and vice versa.

Steady on early days. Im just happy that we seem to be competing and (so far) playing better fitba. The signing of dobbie has done wonders, really given the fans a boost and created a feel good factor.Hopefully we can keep up the good start with him banging im a few goals, and see where it takes us. Delighted to be in the qaurters, hopefully a home draw or Alloa or Morton in the next round .

Was Laidlaw out on loan to Raith from Hibs? Surely? They can't have possibly signed him from Raith.

Signed him from Raith. Virtanen started ahead of him in first game and we've been going for first teamers all summer, Laidlaw was signed as a third choice. It's only Virtanen being shite against Brondby and the length of time to get a first teamer in that's caused Laidlaw to get a game.

I'd be punting Virtanen and getting someone in to put Laidlaw back into the 3rd choice position he was signed to fill.

54 years you rancid tramps.

And another year where we're still the more successful club in the competition. PowttJS.gif

I'm sure you'll be as active on your own teams thread tomorrow when you get papped out and your drought turns to 55 years, mate.

It is cute that Hibs fans are trying to go down this route. Doesn't really work when you have an inferior record in the competition though, m8.

At least you're showing everyone how you're not bothered by your utter mauling at home to a Championship side tonight, mind.

Oh wait - you are a Championship side. An established one at that. titter.png

Excellent second half from Queens. Hibs the better team by a distance in the first and should have been more than one ahead at the break, but the introduction of Dobbie turned the game. We got into a few good positions in the first half but lacked quality in the final third.

Dobbie is still quality: great touch and control, and he brought much needed guile and composure to the team.

I really liked the look of Dykes  - he's raw, but is big, strong, pacy and unorthodox. He will cause a lot of problems this term and a great move by the club to sign him up on a longer contract. With Anderson on the right we have height on both flanks and look dangerous at set pieces.

Robinson was outstanding, some superb saves throughout, with one tip over the bar in the second half particularly brilliant. I like his positivity and his ability to quickly set up attacks with fast throw outs and sweeper-esque searching balls to the wings looks likely to produce dividends this year with the personnel we've got.

I like the directness of this team, much more threatening than last season. We look to be very dangerous on the counter attack. Pace, strength and height are real assets at this level. Have to say that Brotherston was highly impressive too, a huge upgrade on Hamill when he came on. Very promising looking player, another with a nice turn of pace.

This is a much improved Hibs team than in recent seasons, but we caused them more problems tonight than in the previous 4 games at Easter Road combined. Cautiously optimistic for the season ahead.
