EKFCTV
Today was just one of those days at the office. Edusport defended well, their keeper was outstanding, hit the woodwork 4 or 5 times & had a goal chopped off at the start of the second half. The important thing is that we are in the draw for the next round. Hopefully we can get our 30th win in a row on Wednesday night

Dead
Congrats on another win for EK tonight. Seriously. No matter what this probably is the best winning run we win be around to witness and hear about in our generation. For EK players to go out each game and know that not to win will collapse "the house of cards" is pressure enough but then to still go onto win again and again is special. The_Judge
Matchday 14 - 16th November - Civil Service Strollers (H): East Kilbride 4 - 0 Civil Service Strollers Victoria (2), Winter, Stevenson. A comfortable win in uncomfortable conditions. No disrespect to CSS but the score could've / should've been higher. McNeil could have had a first half hat-trick within a ten minute window but a mixture of poor finishing and decent goalkeeping stopped him registering even one. Actually the CSS keeper had a large number of good saves throughout the match and the biggest shock was that it was only 1-0 at half time. With Jack Smith back at EK on loan we have possess some serious pace between him, Victoria and Adam Strachan. In years gone by it wasn't unheard of for teams in EOSL or SOSL to go on winning runs for months on end. What makes EK's run the more impressive (allowing for the penalty shoot-out quibble) is that it's been done in LL, which is more competitive; it's been sustained for 7+ months, split over 2 seasons; and it includes 2 cup finals. Here's the full list of 30 thus far: Sat 26 Mar Whitehill (A) 3-2 Sat 02 Apr *no game* Sat 09 Apr Vale of L (H) 5-2 Sat 16 Apr Selkirk (A) 5-1 -Tue 19 Apr Berwick (A) 2-0 (EOS Cup Final) Sat 23 Apr Uni of Stir (H) 3-2 (LL Cup R1) Sat 30 Apr Gala (H) 5-1 (LL Cup R2) -Tue 03 May Threave (A) 4-3 Sat 07 May Cumbernauld (H) 2-0 (LL Cup SF) Sun 15 May Gretna (N) 0-0 (LL Cup Final) (4-2p) Sat 30 Jul Whitehill (A) 1-0 Sat 06 Aug Selkirk (H) 6-0 -Wed 10 Aug Dalbeattie (H) 3-0 Sat 13 Aug Gretna (A) 6-1 (EOS Qual Cup R1) Sat 20 Aug Preston (A) 5-0 Sat 27 Aug Gala (H) 3-1 -Wed 31 Aug Gretna (A) 5-1 Sat 03 Sep East Stir (H) 1-0 Sat 10 Sep Uni of Stir (A) 3-1 Sat 17 Sep Civil SS (A) 2-1 (South Chal Cup R1) Sat 24 Sep Vale of L (H) 9-1 (Scot Cup R1) Sat 01 Oct Vale of L (A) 2-1 -Tue 04 Oct Edin Uni (A) 4-0 Sat 08 Oct Cumbernauld (A) 1-0 Sat 15 Oct Gala (H) 1-0 (South Chal Cup R2) Sat 22 Oct Cowdenbeath (A) 1-0 (Scot Cup R2) Sat 29 Oct Vale of L (H) 4-2 Sat 05 Nov BSC Glasgow (H) 3-1 -Thu 10 Nov Uni of Stir (A) 2-1 (EOS Qual Cup R2) Sat 12 Nov Edusport Ac (A) 2-0 (South Chal Cup R3) -Tue 15 Nov Civil SS (H) 4-0 Sat 19 Nov Spartans (A) Sat 26 Nov Stranraer (A) (Scot Cup R3) Sat 03 Dec Edin Uni (A) (EOS Qual Cup R3) Sat 10 Dec Whitehilll (H) Sat 17 Dec Hawick (A) Worthy of special mention are the wins at Berwick and Cowdenbeath from SPFL2. Note the only LL clubs they haven't faced during the run are Edinburgh City, Spartans and Hawick. It's also included some harem-scarem moments. Were 3-0 down to Threave, won with the last kick?... Won the LLC on penalties... Couple of very late winners... but keeps on going...

Many highland league teams don't want that I would love to see ek go as far as they can up the leagues. That is the clubs view aswell. They have always stated that as there ambition. Why are the highland league team so reluctant to move up? Is it the traveling?

johnmc80
Bit of a patronising post this one. so all yer other matches haven't been tough ?? I think if you look at our last 9 or 10 results u can see all of our games have been tight. Even after beating vale 9-1 our game against them the following week was tight, won by the 1 goal. Every team in this league are capable of taking point of anyone. Its a tough league.

Traveling isn't such a big issue for the Central Belt clubs, so no reason not to want to go up. Only drawback is having to play the same 9 fixtures, 4 times......boring!

selfassemblyshire
How are u finding the lowland league? Is the change of scenery a good thing? We love it. The fact that we only play each team twice is brilliant, we're winning more games and the entry and booze is much cheaper. The fans and clubs are also really friendly and there's never any issue at any of the games. Much better run than SPFL 2!

GoodyWoody
Statement from EKFC: although on the face of it it might look like our run of wins has come to an end, we have to remember we play Spartans twice in the season. As far as we are concerned this is the first leg of a two legged match and as long as we win in April by 2 goals we will have preserved the run. Can we have some more beer please Ajax?
