Ayr United v Greenock Morton

Recommended Posts

Much needed win and well deserved. First half was torture to watch but some of the football we played in the second half was really good. Good to get off the mark, especially before a trip to Easter Road next week.

Morton looked very poor. Showed absolutely nothing going forward for much of the game.

Didn't think Harkins played particularly well today but you can see the quality he has. The flick for the second goal was brilliant. Balatoni and Meggat were also solid. Doc also getting back to his best. Positive the past few weeks. Onwards and upwards.

Apparently, it was "All you do is boo us, fucking support us" or words to that effect aimed at the Morton fans from O'Ware (whilst being held back by the kit man.)

At least he cares I suppose..

Couldn't have been much of an attempt to get at the fans if wee Pugsley managed to hold him back ^_^

The story I was told about a wage cap certainly sounds believable when you hear that Duffy failed to sign the first 17 strikers on his hit list.

The only stories that you hear are the Walter Mitty tales given from the discredited jakey playing you like a fiddle. Good to see that you've taken your hilarious banning like a champ though.

Duffy is 100% responsible for his own failings in the transfer market this summer and should have the dignity to resign. If not we must use the two wage slots that he has still refused to use to strengthen his squad to sack him. Accountability for failure is the most pressing issue.

He only cares about "the Pope's eleven". When it comes to the club actually paying his wages he's happy to give it the big licks when things are going well and has a breakdown when the fans rightly turn on the shambles presented to them. We're not there to happy-clap a total of two shots on target and three defeats in as many weeks. He can get in the sea.

I've no idea who you think I am but I can assure you I'm not.

Are you saying that Duffy hasn't had restrictions put on his transfer dealings?

Obvious alias is obvious and your "limitations" claim is entirely fictional. Jim Duffy - under no external influence whatsoever - paid good money for his shit nephew Gary Oliver in the middle of May. Which he should be held accountable for.

The conspiracy theories don't in fact change the conclusion. If Duffy had a limited budget, then spunked a large amount on Oliver then he must be sacked. If he had a credible budget and thought that Oliver and other gubbins players were good enough then he also must be sacked. It's that straightforward.

Nothing is going to change unless the fans force a change they did it at the Dunfermline game when Scott was in charge when more fans watched the game from the carpark if the fans did that at the next 2 games then it might force the boards hands.

Duffy like any other manager will live or die by results. I'm convinced we're not being told the full story on what's happening at Cappielow this season.

Duffy will be held responsible like all the rest on the board. There is not an excuse in the world that will be accepted by the support if we get relegated  this season.

And don't say it can't or won't happen. If you do you haven't learned anything from the last time we went down

Bigger pitcture , 2 full seasons in charge, a promotion , a 5th place finish and 3 cup quarter finals, as bad as it was todsy the same people going nuts shouting time to go were the same people shouting it at spartans, maybe they should fuckoff as opposed to duffy

If you can't see Duffy and the board have fucked right up then you have a problem M8.

Superb dish on the pitch and a tasty dessert of Greenock tears.

"Contract."

The fact there's so many meltdowns after losing to Ayr should speak volumes IMO. Queens Park is one thing, but Ayr? Sack the board.

It's perfectly plain Col. The Raes are no longer willing to fund the club adequately and (some of) the fans have been gulled by 'sustainability' - a.k.a. getting by on the cheap.

Until there's a change of ownership we'll continue to spin on the spot. Jim Duffy is not the primary problem - FAR from it.
