Yeah, but billions will be wasted in preparation and some of it will go into pockets that it should not.

I reckon the U.K. is less corrupt than most comparable countries; but it’s still corrupt.

This sentiment alone is worthy of a knighthood.  Arise Sir Danger. ;)

Another poll showing that Corbyn is overwhelmingly out of step with Labour Party members on Brexit.

When asked about it the official response included the phrase “botched Brexit”; it’s now as infuriating as “jobs first Brexit” and “strong and stable”.

Soundbite responses will alienate the Corbynistas even more I think.

I'm afraid he is a liability for Labour. Hopefully he goes soon and takes the Corbynistas with him.

The idea that Labour members are annoyed with Corbyn over Brexit is entirely media driven.

The Guardian has been reduced to reporting made up stories and hoping they come true.

If it was just the Guardian than that might be true but other papers and news channels are saying the same thing.

Other Labour politicians are more careful about how they say things to allow all options to remain open.
However Jeremy Corbyn then comes out and says what he thinks - which is an opinion that hasn't changed in decades.

Jeremy Corbyn is all for following the wishes of the membership but that is only if they wish for the same things that he does.

I suspect he expresses a lot of opinions that Labour party members agree with but on Europe he does not.

Are you shocked that the corporate and state media speak with one voice?

Labour fixed their position at the conference. Members had their input.

It's not so much the members but the voters, who are overwhelmingly pro remain, that he should worry about
And the wider UK electorate which seems to be shifting towards remain. Inexplicable that Corbyn is unwilling to shift his position on one thing in order to try and get into power and make real change in a number of other areas, and also if unwilling to do that, then to step aside to let someone else further the cause.

Surely one mans disdain for the EU cant be allowed to be the blocker for providing a real alternative to the Tories at the ballot box?

There was some some big shot Labour union guy on the today show this morning basically saying Corbyn was out of step with members and was pushing for an emregency conference.
There is a bit of ' how dare Britain speak out' to this. The prols will be shafted when brexit is ditched and Mr 'left wing' Corbyn is replaced by a Blairite. Anyone who actually believes we are living in a free democracy needs their head examined. Elitists and big business will prevail.

I’m sure you can recommend a good psychiatrist.

Well at least a psychiatrist.

The adverse economic consequences of (any form of) Brexit will be damaging to all business - big, medium-sized and small.

If plebiscites are regarded as the ultimate expression of democracy, as seems to be the implication here, then going  back to the public when we now have a greater understanding of the consequences of our (previously ill-informed) actions is obviously not anti-democratic, no matter how the Brexiteers wish to dress it up.

We live in a parliamentary democracy however, and if our representatives had the courage of their convictions they would revoke article 50 themselves, as it’s clearly an act of utter folly and counter to the national interest, but as the majority of them seem to be terrified of the backlash from the extremists and xenophobes, they’ll most likely hand it back to the public, eventually.

Yes, they did fix their position - to keep all options open - including a second referendum.

However Jeremy Corbyn ignores this position and states his own position instead.

Nobody really believes him when he says he is not a Brexiteer.  That was his position forty years ago and he is not willing to change it.
