topcat(The most tip top)
Another idiotic howler from you! Invoking Article 50 by March 2017 will not trigger Brexit. The UK will only leave the EU after the completion of the negotiations and Royal Assent being given to the Brexit Act - probably in late 2018/early 2019 Technically it doesn't matter whether the negotiations are complete or not by the end of the two years.

True and the two years can be extended if the parties agree. It does not alter the fact that Cream Choice has been posting idiotic nonsense, e.g. that the UK will leave the EU early next year.

I don't think it will change much tbh. She was supposedly a "remainer" but was quite sleekit to try and get her foot in Number 10. A bad Brexit negotiation may have afffected the Tories chances of getting back in in 2020.

zidane's child
If the terms of Article 50 do have to go through parliament then how long would it take for all this to be passed/approved? This itself could take weeks/months.

There are varying reports and views. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-article-50-vote-bill-three-lines-theresa-may-parliament-trigger-eu-exit-a7418696.html "A “three line Bill” to kick-start Brexit has been drawn up by the Government to make it as difficult as possible for Parliament to hold it up, it has been revealed. Ministers believe the short legislation will be “bombproof” to amendments, but will comply with this month’s High Court ruling that Parliament must give its consent, the BBC reported." http://news.sky.com/story/govt-already-drafting-brexit-trigger-bill-10648882 "Primary legislation could take at least six weeks to clear both Houses of Parliament and is also subject to amendments, which gives MPs and Lords huge scope to change the tenor of the bill - making Mrs May's March deadline look tight."

For sleekit read cowardly. She had much to say on the topic of immigration throughout her tenure as HS, including that conference speech...but then hid during a campaign which frequently focused on free movement. The post-vote scramble over Cameron's twitching corpse was as predictable as it was unseemly.
RedRob72
Micheal Barnier of the EU, released statement suggests that October 2018 will be sufficient time to complete Brexit negotiations![emoji47] Just can't see it myself.

Peppino Impastato
Yet you still desperately want us to stay in the UK. You're wrong though, the UK doesn't even have a hand, it'll get the deal the eu tells it its getting.
bob the tank
Hey, I thought during the run up to indyref1 that Scotland was to help lead the UK and was a vital part of the great britain. Apparently not according to "our" advocate general at the supreme court, he has been talking Scotland down and basically saying that we should just kowtow to our Westminster/English betters and go back to eating our cereal. Advocate general "for" Scotland ffs, glad he's not against us....
Alan Stubbs
If there was any doubt that the intellectual standards of British politics had hit an all time low, this "red, white and blue Brexit" patter confirms it nicely. Britain is basically a Poundstretcher USA at this point.
