CityDave
Howls of laughter if the HP ends up in the top 6 after the split and say St. Johnstone or Hearts are the holders going into the last game against Celtic and a demotivated and complacent Celtic end up losing that game to claim the 2016/17 Hot Potato....If Celtic win the treble would that be with potatoes on the side? Week 27 St Johnstone (2-3 Sevco) Week 28 Dundee (0-2 St J) Looking bleak for Dundee this week who will be hoping that Celtic are daunted by the prospect of the hot potato, seeing as nothing else in Scottish football seems to scare them. Aberdeen the next game, followed by tricky trips to Dingwall and Tynecastle may see the HP stay in Dundee for a while yet.

Still possible to make it in to the top six, most likely scenario for that would probably be Dundee handing it to Hearts on the 8th April, followed by Hearts failing to win at Rugby Park on the 14th. Or, in true Hot Potato style, giving it to Aberdeen, to give to ICT in their next game, who would immediately give it to St Johnstone, who then play Aberdeen in game 33, guaranteeing a top six finish for the Hot Potato. deej
Big weekend for the Hot Potato's top six aspirations. Dundee continuing their fantastically hilarious run of defeats means they have possession going to Tynecastle, where Hearts also seem to have imploded. Week 29 Dundee (1-2 Celtic) Week 30 Dundee (0-7 (SEVEN) Aberdeen) Week 31 Dundee (1-2 County) With Hearts away to Kilmarnock next week they will not want to take on the added pressure of the Hot Potato, whilst Dundee failing to win would guarantee a bottom six finish. 10menwent2mow
Good to see that the Spud has not made it to Pittodrie this season. Has everyone in the league been involved in at least one Hot Potato match up?? It is the ultimate test of bottle and it says a lot about our boys that on the two occasions we've had to face the prospect of being spudded, we've won. deej
A quick look at the previous results shows I got it wrong when I said 7 teams had held the Potato so far - it's only 6 properly, although I'll include Ross County who shared it with their highland neighbours in week 1. Hamilton - 11 Partick - 6 ICT - 5.5 Dundee - 5 St Johnstone - 2 Rangers* - 1 Ross County - 0.
deej
And yes, everyone has been involved in sending their opponents home with the HP at least twice - Ross County - 4 Hearts, ICT, Rangers*, St Johnstone - 3 Killie, Motherwell, Accies, Partick, Dundee, Celtic, Dons -

CityDave
Evil plan - The wee troll in me wants a Dundee win vs Hearts tomorrow, nothing against Hearts but it places the HP perfectly in the top 6 for either Celtic as I've mentioned or for fake Rangers to pick up their only top flight trophy this season. It could backfire if the draw machine that is Kilmarnock lose to Hearts in that last game before the split.

Will either be Hamilton, Ross County or Dundee who finish the season in possession, Ross County have shown no mercy when it comes to Hot Potato showdowns, sending their opponents home in possession 5 times and will be looking to make it 6 midweek. Ross County -5 Hearts - 4 Motherwell, ICT, Rangers*, St Johnstone, Accies, Dundee- 3 Killie, Partick, Celtic, Dons - 2 Would be suitable for Dundee or Hamilton to keep it as they have shared custody for 19 of the 36 weeks so far (Hamilton 12, Dundee 9), and provided County don't lose to Accies midweek it will all boil down to a mammoth end of season contest at New Douglas Park. Total weeks held - Hamilton - 12 Dundee - 7 Partick - 6 ICT - 5.5 St Johnstone - 2 Motherwell 2 Rangers* - 1 Ross County - 0.

deej
Ross County yet again getting the hot potato to f**k means Accies maintain possession going in to the last day. 13th week they've had it.
