NotThePars
Sad to say that 4/6 on Trump winning a second term is beginning to look tempting. Incidentally I think incompetence is far more likely than conspiracy for the late results from Iowa, in 2012 the Republican count took 16 days to be verified. They initially announced Romney had won, then that they weren't sure, finally plumping on Santorum.People are trying to work out whether it’s incompetence or corruption when it can easily be both... Which it is.
welshbairn
Gloomiest thing is not the fuckup/fix, but the turnout, low and especially low for first time voters, which is bad news for Bernie. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/02/04/iowa-caucus-low-turnout-110674

I think Bernie would need an Obama style rush of support to overcome resistance, and likely without the media support that he got. If there's no more enthusiasm than Clinton had he's got no chance, even if he gets the nomination. As you say, caucuses are weird though, things might pick up on Super Tuesday.

Small c conservative is about as radical as Iowa gets. Bernie being basically level with Buttigieg there is a big fillip for him. Likewise, Buttigieg won't have that success other places. South Carolina, being the first state with a sizeable black populace to go, is where things get interesting. If Biden doesn't win that out the park then the DNC have a big decision to make, although I have no faith in them making it.

Savage Henry
The DNC have all the vote totals which they could release right now. I don’t get this either. What’s stopping them from having a back up record which could be sent by alternative means? I assume they’re going to manipulate the results in order to detract from any potential litigation.... ...The Democrats currently have the President they deserve.
Lofarl
I’ve never heard of this Buttigieg guy until yesterday. But he will have no chance simply due to his sexuality. There’s no way vast swathes of god fearing yanks will vote for a gay man. Christ a lot of them never voted for Hilary in both the last election and her battle to be candidate against Obama due to her gender. A gay US president. The simpsons foresaw this.

You're probably right though, there's something very fake about him too, and he's another with an unhelpful name.

Choose your poison; a socialist or a gay.
Detournement
The BBC trolling Pelosi by saying look at her facial expressions and zooming in on her fixed plastic coupon. Ripping up Trump's speech after voting for his trade deal, defence bill, space force and increased surveillance powers. Totally showed him. Also jumping out her seat for the circus of bringing out a fake Venzuealan President.

Loads of people were falling over themselves this side of the pond trying to imagine what Trump will go after if Pete wins the nomination at the same time as "Mayor Cheat" was trending on Twitter.

O'Kelly Isley III
The Republicans chose the retention of power over probity. This is a black day for those who still believed in the system of checks and balances in the US political system. What goes around comes around however, and this could yet prove to be a pyrrhic 'victory' for the American right. Anyone with a shred of integrity should hope so.
