afca32
It's nice to play someone a bit different and Hawick proved in the last round that they're a capable side. Their rise from the bottom of the EoS a couple of seasons ago has been impressive and they seem to be doing fine in the Lowland. City need to improve after recent defeats and this is a good opportunity to make the fourth round for the first time since Rangers in December 2012. HibeeJibee
Hawick's twitter has this down as "the biggest game of our history" which I'm afraid I can't really subscribe to - even if you'd set aside winning any non-league divisions and cups, they made the equivalent of R4 in 1967-68 losing at St Johnstone. Got to equivalent of this R3 a few times including playing QP at Hampden; taking Cowdenbeath to a replay; and losing to Alloa twice, QotS once and hosting St Johnstone once. Nevertheless, surely their biggest match in a generation - arguably since that visit of St Johnstone in 1991-92 when a trip to Parkhead was known to await in following round. Strathman
Hawick lost 7 to Alloa in the first round in 91-92. In 68 they beat Vale of Leithen and St.Cuthberts to reach round 3. I think the Berwick result was the best in their history.
HibeeJibee
Apologies, it was 1985-86 they hosted St Johnstone after a postponement knowing next round was Celtic away. As the first time they defeated league opposition, I'd imagine their win last month would as you say be their best-ever result.
Strathman
That season was St.Johnstone's lowest ebb. Bottom of the third tier which was bottom of the Scottish league. Take your point about the possible Celtic game right enough.

gordon9736
City were so far ahead in this game it was embarrassing. Had they put way half the chances missed, it would easily been 12+. Not one Elgin player had a poor game. Hopefully this will be the start of a good run of wins and roll on the draw on Monday.
afca32
That was a mental game. Hawick actually came close to scoring a few times but second half just about every time we got the ball we created a good chance. Hawick's high line undid them and their persistence with it was quite baffling.
