The Fife Fife Press stuff is at least mainly from locals. Crazy locals, but locals never the less.

We could have worked out the last bit ourselves, but thanks anyway.

First one is some old roaster complaining about foreigners using the NHS, then just having a rambling rant about things that annoy him. He becomes befuddled in his first sentence and thinks the deficit in Scotland is a mere £15 million. If someone told him it was actually billions these days, we could be one roaster down. Then another boy complaining about a local sculpture, then a would be Solidarity Councillor (not going to happen) having a really obscure rant about a current Councillor, then some boy not happy about the DWP call centre and wanting all 650 MPs to investigate this never before seen example of a government department being shit, and so on.

If the letter pages reads any worse than this paragraph I'd be surprised.

The East Fife Mail letters page is the same. The same three or four people arguing with one another, and occasionally Clark Cross from Linlithgow moaning about wind turbines (I'm assuming he probably posts the same letter to multiple local papers)

AKA Cross Clark...

The Courier is tremendous for this kind of thing. Every week it's rammed full of anti-SNP, anti-EU letters with the occasional sprinkling of barely disguised homophobia and/or misogyny, usually from some dithering pensioner who insists on using his old military rank in his title.

If you ever wish to cause a meltdown in any of these papers' online comments sections, throw in something about the old age pension being a State Benefit. The offence that causes them is fucking amazing

Going to register and mention how the elderly can afford to spunk so much on Xmas decorations for their gardens.

Be sure to remind them that they can only afford this due to the triple lock on their state pension benefits. It'll go down superbly well.
