I had a drunken conversation with him at 'Late and Live' at the Gilded Balloon, I have no recollection of what was said.

He probably said "Are you that fanny that keeps posting puns on Pie and Bovril"? :P

I know Bill Hicks is lauded for how relevant his material remains to this day but that would be an amazingly prescient joke given he died in 1994!

Neither get a look in on Aisling Bea in the 'wid' or funny stakes for me. Not that I find Aisling Bea that funny mind you...

Funniest female mainstream comedian for a while tbf. That aside, I'd easily put her in my Top 10 TV telly 'wids', she's lovely.

Aye, she is like. I properly fancy her. The missus makes fun of me when I'm all smitten with Aisling when she's on tv, says I look at the telly like a wee love-struck schoolboy! [emoji1]

Reckon she's just jealous though.

If we're talking about traditional standup/commentary:

1. Billy Connolly
2. George Carlin
3. Bill Burr

Connolly still has incredible sidesplitting replay value 40 years on. Master of everyday life storytelling.

Carlin for his political and social insights.

Burr for his 'everyday man trying to understand the world' shtick.

All three for the giant middle finger they've always shown to their critics.
