"The ICT Thread - From the Premiership to the Seaside"

While I totally agree Skyline, you must admit even by Gardiner standards this really is a humdinger the local seething is going to ruin the club, Christ even the sponsors are talking about withdrawing support. Never mind the actual fans who will not now renew season tickets

I have to concede that the depth of reaction to this has surprised me. I imagine its probably also surprised the people at ICT too and right now they are likely wondering whether its going to die down or whether an embarrassing climbdown would be the lesser evil. Much may depend on what their contractual commitment to Kelty is.

Using Kelty was a bit of a bizarre choice anyway. I think there's much sense in the ICT plan if they are going to be paying low end full time wages. Its likely the only way they think they can do so and remain competitive but a training venue in or around Perth would make far more sense. Perhaps there"s nothing suitable available.

Ultimately Inverness is bigger than Dumfries (at least 150% of the size) and its a good hour further away from the new training base than ours is. Both of which make it a far bigger move than ours was.

Its hard to see where ICT go from here. I imagine they either ride out the storm and hope everyone calms down or they back down and either accept the inevitability of fielding a full time side that wont compete or go part time instead. With of course the added cost of whatever contract cancellation charge there is in the Kelty deal.........

When are you fans going to start making a noise about this?

The streets outside the ground are filled with the angry rustling of werthers wrappers and firmly tapped walking sticks......well they would be, but the stadium is so far away from the bus station for most to bother

Club to be delighted to announce a Bronze statue of Scot Gardiner outside the main stand.

Surely it'd be brass especially the neck area?

I'm expecting the club to carry on through this in blissful ignorance of public feeling with and impact on ST sales being initially apportioned to relegation. They will hope that while objections exist the summer recruitment of central belt superstars will woo fans back if not a positive start to league Cup and league will have many returning though fear of FOMO and generally seeing a winning team.

Genuinely don't expect to see the club hierarchy take note until small crowds are the norm but even then I doubt it'll register this season much as narcissits are rife at the club. Maybe if we have an unsuccessful L1 campaign where its costing more money and fail to get promotion they may think 'its not going well'.

No change will come unless forced and that involves directorial changes which look unlikely.

Surely any saving from moving to the central belt will be lost when they still have to pay a premium for players to get them to sign for them as one kf the worst FT teams in the country? Plus the players will still need to travel to Inverness every second week so will a lot of travelling. It just seems a very bizarre model to us, especially because kelty are now in the same league so you are also funding a potential rival.

When are you fans going to start making a noise about this? The protests will start with not buying the season tickets, but getting out on the street and making noise so that newspapers and television stations start publicising your plight and displeasure with the board is surely the next step?

On protests, over on CTO a new poster called DRAKE has posted and he 100% vehemently defends the move and says that we all should be behind it.

Have a look.

The wording and phrasing of the post suggests conman DRAKE is near the top table.

I wonder what this week will bring. Dreading the ‘Club News’ graphic popping up.

"Inverness Caledonian Thistle announce that Duncan Ferguson has now left the club.

The appointment of Derek Adams will take over immediately"

See this ST meeting on Tuesday, it’ll only be worthwhile if director Scott Young is there again. He needs to be told in person what people think of this Kelty shite.

Season ticket renewal time will be interesting. There's not been a peep from the club about that. They've not even confirmed officially what's happening with Ferguson but we're being left to infer it from other statements.

I suppose he does have two years on his contract so if he is continuing they don’t really need to make an announcement about that but it would be nice to know.

We're going to have some fun with you next season..... low bearing fruit.

I think you mean low hanging fruit but never mind.

Ignore Balde, his schtick is largely done so by most of us. Similar to a Rammit or North West among yourselves.

Crazy RC fans see of all ex-managers that Adams is more of a 'banter' appointment crossing the bridge than a misogynistic, homophobic racist

Most of us want Adams in a job for a laugh. Malky can just do one.

Scot Gardiner is so narcissistic & arrogant he would never have thought we'd be in the same league as Kelty when they were discussing this. His idol Big Dunc was supposed to keep us up. Ross Morrison would've just gobbled it all up like a fish.

It's one of the main reasons this nonsense is happening the board & the management team can't hold themselves accountable for this mess.

It's the Highlands fault cause we can't attract players up here, it's the Highland councils fault cause they refused the battery farm, It's our home fans fault for not backing the team enough, It's Billy Dodds fault cause Dunc got 41 points & Dodds only got 1 in 5 games, It's the plastic pitches fault, It's Arbroath fault for "downing tools", Its the referees fault cause a couple of decisions didn't go our way.

It's everyone else's fault but the board's.
