Fixed that for you. Add in segregation on an industrial scale and the promulgation of the idea that the "other side" had two heads and ate babies.

Although segregation in itself needn't lead to conflict.

All cities are segregated by money.

This is how this started and if you look at the original tweet the article linked was in The Times and written by Tim Shipman so f**k knows what prompted your response. Then again, I'm surprised your PUL alarm bells weren't triggered by a Tim writing the article.

I am none of the three things that constitute PUL being atheist, pro-Devomax where Scotland is concerned and opposed to all forms of terrorism and the tweet that was posted was by somebody called Siobhan Fenton who I had assumed was the journalist because I couldn't be bothered following the link. I find the DUP wanting Nigel Farange involved with Brexit far fetched given they don't want a hard border and having Nigel on board is highly likely to result in having one. Time will tell whether I am right on that.

.....and you could add that Belfast is not the only British city segregated by religion. I think big problems await a few mainland cities.

I always resented the idea that the demography of my city might dictate who I socialised with. It didn't.

That's probably already kicked in, in England.

But what about

Oh dear.......................

Can't you tell the difference between an observation and a comparison?

Then again, you couldn't differentiate between Glenconner's valid observation about profiling and bigotry, so I guess not.

Not really the same thing because it's easier to gain or lose money compared with gaining or losing a particular ethnoreligious background.

Dunno if I agree with that. From about 14 onwards I started seriously questioning the existence of God/a god and lost a fair chunk of my perceived religious background. I eventually settled on/arrived at atheism as a comfortable viewpoint and see little correlation between what I was and what I now am.

I don't know anything about you other than your posting on a Scottish football messageboard and I can hazard a guess at your ethnoreligious background. I have no idea what your level of wealth would be.

Don't quite get your point here. I was making then point that my religious background has changed whereas, relatively speaking, my wealth hasn't.

Obviously both can change, but the level of my wealth is irrelevant to the point I was making.

The only reason one wouldn't change and the other would is if the "you can tell if someone is Catholic by looking at them" is (as suspected) utter horseshit. Generally speaking a religious and ethnic background is hard to escape, whereas previous poverty can be easily hidden. As such there is more fluidity in financial segregation than ethnic or religious segregation.

Please stop rocking the boat.

Some of us are getting a right good laugh with this.

Ruth Davidson called it "new powers coming to Scotland after Brexit".

f**k that witch. My point is LTL was trying to come across like he wasn't religious or pro Union and then went on to say he was for Devo Max... why not just Independence.
