Romeo
Lennon getting savaged by West Brom this morning. Apparently they sent him up here purely for Rodgers, and then were "hugely disappointed" at how Burke was coached once Lennon arrived. Feel like you might find this a lot now tbh, the player you could attract under Rodgers wont touch you under Lennon, especially since that's now two players (Weah and Burke) hes been publicly criticised over."savaged"WBA not happy he didn't get played more.

It's already costing them in the transfer market as well as they made an offer for Aribo but were turned down by the player. It's night and day in terms of how potential players see their development going under Lennon compared to Rodgers.
The OP
The only way to counter this is to publicly state Burke is pish. Burke got 90mins at Ibrox and was rotten. Bit unprofessional from West Brom forcing your hand like that. They spent £14m on the haddie and they feel silly about that. He is clearly unimportant to them or they would not have loaned him out during a promotion race they failed to win.

The OP
As a final point, remember when Brendan Rodgers really developed Charly Musonda?

Chalton and Oldham players are out of Celtic's reach we've got to settle for the mighty well players for now.

West Brom obviously need to protect their asset but in reality the only reason they will complain is to try and convince prospective buyers that he isn't as shite as he'd made himself out to be. The guy is a good athlete who simply hasn't developed as a footballer, he is dreadful and has been found out at any sort of decent level.
DukDukGoose
Celtic becoming the new Statement F.C. No need to even react to it.

If the quotes from WBA are true then I can understand them reacting, particularly if they haven't contacted Celtic. Pretty out of order and unprofessional if it's not even been discussed privately.
Desp
Not often I find myself sticking up for Neil Lennon, but he was absolutely right to keep Burke away from the first team. Oliver Burke would be a great footballer... if someone actually taught him how to play football. Until that happens, and it's not and never was Celtic's problem, he'll continue to be absolutely shite. Can't believe nearly £30m has been spunked on him. Woeful.

We'd all be laughing at this if it was Sevco.

That is not a Rangers grade, batshit mental statement filled with all of the arrogance and bile of Jim Traynor. Their tweets over Turnbull were far, far more embarrassing.

coprolite
WBA said that Celtic will know what went on. Celtic say that's inaccurate. Does this mean Celtic don't know what's been going on?
wastecoatwilly
If Burke had a first touch and knew where the rest of his team mates are on the pitch he would be a player but even the Germans couldn't rebuild him. Vorsprung durch Technik. Be good for Scotland thou.
