Torrid day thusfar for SPFL U20s versus non-leaguers:

Berwick 1-2 Stirling Uni
Burntisland 3-2 Livingston
Fraserburgh 3-0 Clachnacuddin
Inverurie 3-0 Montrose
Whitehill 0-4 East Kilbride

Went along to the Shippy game well worth their win. Were 3-1 up at half time, Livi goals came from a penalty right on the edge of the box and the second should never have been as a player handled the ball in the build up. Crowd was around 80 which is probably better than most 1st team games!

They get a reasonable crowd watching them when they play up at Kelty in the league games.

I was  meaning their run of the mill league games, not the big derby with Kelty, that's why I said most:P

Suspect he means Burntisland's U20s playing their LL & EOSL U20s League games at NCP.

Yes

Forgot you went to these games Gogsy. It was still probably a better gate than some of the 1st team games.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hibs v East Kilbride - this Thursday... 9 of the 16 ties are on Sunday... quite a number of ties are being played after the supposed deadline with QotS v Stranraer on Friday 3rd November, Alloa v Celtic and Morton v Turriff on Sunday 5th November, and Rangers v Partick still a month away on Monday 20th November.

No date for Dunfermline v St Mirren.

Dunfermline withdrew. St Mirren have received a bye.

As for ourselves and Stranraer, we couldn't find a suitable date earlier than that. It's not easy when the Development League is running on Tuesdays and the SPFL will not allow a postponement to play the Cup instead and some of the smaller clubs, including us, have players involved in both this and the first team at weekends. As it is we'll need to decide whether to risk our 2nd choice keeper, who is 1st choice u20's, in the Youth Cup match the night before a league match at Morton.
