  1. That’s not quite accurate. There was an administrative vacuum after the sacking and no new contracts were on offer for some time. A number of players who had not been offered a new contract exercised their option to look for and sign for clubs who would offer them contracts. A few waited to see if the club would offer new terms, some of them signed,, some left. A number of those who left didn’t fancy L2 football or L2 wages. While some of those who left may have been upset at the manager’s departure, their own decisions to stay or go would have been made out of self interest not the result of the manager’s departure.
  2. First time against the Albion, they have played Stirling Uni every season since both joined Lowland League.
  3. Taking nothing away from the finishes, all well taken. From a Albion point of view it was very disappointing at how easily you got the chances, seldom will you have to put so little in to make them. We lost one soft goal, fell apart and in the end the result could have been anything.
  4. I agree with much of that although I’m not sure losing games 1-0 without posing very much of a threat will make the football any more enjoyable.
  5. Both squads look remarkably similar, a lot of untried youngsters with a leavening of more experienced players. On balance we would look to have the edge with our senior players. Our youngsters got a lot of game time in the League Cup, we were well beaten twice and should probable won both drawn games although getting the penalties bonus point. Tomorrow will be closer to telling both sets of supporters what might be in store. It’s fingers crossed for a winning start.
  6. Was Wright a trialist? He was named on the team sheet indication of a signed player, as you said trialist #6 was Adam Masson ex RR. Looks as if. Callum Law may be our back up goalkeeper this season back from his loans.
  7. For the sake of clarity let it be called UEFA Champions and Nearly Champions League
  8. WC, That's the Park Avenue practice, now based in the Community hospital if he would be interested.
  9. You and the previous chairman are confusing the seasons, it is the season just past which was budgeted circa £50. The one for which he set spending plans and income forecast was always £180k both before and after his resignation.
  10. You omitted to mention that the £180k loss was incurred in season 2022/23 for which the former chairman’s board set the budget and awarded the contracts which led to the explosion in wages. At a shareholders meeting pre-season 2022/23 the then Finance Director announced a forecast loss of around £180k on her budget. ‘These people’ were stuck with the spending plans of the previous board and kept them under control.
  11. Footballers are transients in clubs, some will be glad to be off, some may be sorry at having to leave. Some may be sorry at the manager’s departure and the manner of it, some may feel it deserved. Some may even feel that the chairman was ill advised and that the dressing room had been ignored. For all that they’re away now and we can only thank them for their efforts while with us, and wish them well in future. Without your inside knowledge, who knows what is in their minds? My offering is just idle speculation.
  12. It may be that what was being passed on between husband and wife were the moans of the football players and coaches which may or not have been justified. If these complaints were detrimental to employees upstairs they may or may not have been accurately portrayed to the chairman or perhaps slanted against the dressing room. Just guessing.
  13. Yes to a point, when the team were on top he could look good, when the team had to fight he went missing in action. Didn't think it had to do with the way he was being used, more to do with what he had in him.
