percyboy
Any interest in this one as it's Elgin's first "European" game. Gutted that I'm missing it as I'm working.

Big Berk
Bray should win comfortably, teams from the Republic are strong jiust now, just look at Dundalk's recent European record.

I would expect the team they managed to beat are still better than Elgin ! They would still have to be strong favourites IMO. I'd like to have watched this match. afca32
Didn't really care about progressing in this cup but it's given us a couple of confidence boosters already. Impressive win today, have we ever beaten top flight opposition before?

Unless you've done it again since joining the Scottish League that does look like the only occasion.
afca32
Absolutely. Hopefully we don't draw an Irish/Welsh team in the next round and this tournament is scrapped pronto so our record is 100% until we eventually make the Europe proper. For some reason I thought Fraserburgh beating Dundee was the only time a non-league club had beaten a top flight team. Obviously not true given your extensive knowledge. Have there been many more then?

HibeeJibee
Aye, dunno what happened there . I'd a list in an Infowire thread, trying to find it... maybe lost in Div's infamous thread cull (aka ISIS-esque destruction of cultural heritage). Audaces Fortuna Juvat
I don't want to put a dampener on Elgin's win, but Bray suffered financial meltdown a couple of months ago and players were told to find new clubs. They were flying prior to this, but are really struggling now, so today's win comes as no surprise to me, and was part of a Crusaders, Linfield and Elgin £10 treble, although Crusaders made me sweat for my dosh (and were lucky by all accounts). I had it in my head when thinking about that question earlier that we'd beaten a top flight club on one of those cup runs in the 60s. Just us and the Broch post war is close to what I was thinking.
