Studying the groups again, based on the current set up as long as wales and Bosnia don't win both games we couldn't finish worst second placer if we win both games.

I don't think Bosnia will win in Belgium although Belgium have a.ready qualified . The big concern is we can will two games and there is a strong possibility wales beating Ireland on monday would finish us as the worst second placer .

So the two day wait even with two wins is a problem

Scotland need to win in Slovenia... or draw, and hope Slovakia don't beat Malta.

Slovakia need to win at home to Malta, and hope Scotland don't beat Slovenia.

Slovenia need to win at home to Scotland, and hope Slovakia don't beat Malta.

As I noted Kane's goal didn't actually make a real difference - it simply eliminated Slovenia thrashing us and hoping Slovakia just squeaked Malta.

Any update on what's what with qualification

On the assumption that Slovakia beat Malta, then we can only finish second with "14" points (excluding Malta games)

Group A - Sweden likely to finish second and likely to only have 13 points. We need to root for Holland to beat Sweden at home on Tuesday. Basically if Holland win both their games we're fine.

Group B - Both Switzerland and Portugal outrank us no matter what

Group C - If Norway beat Northern Ireland then we outrank them

Group D - We're fine unless Wales win in Tbilisi and beat Ireland at home

Group E - Forget about this one.

Group G - Forget it.

Group H - Bosnia need to win both their games

Group I - Bit of a clusterfuck

TBH I'm not too worried about being the worst runner up now. We'd need a lot to go against us if we win on Sunday to not be in the playoffs.

In terms of runner-up ranking and Scotland: if we win in Slovenia we'll have 14pts after removing Malta, but GD of as little as 0.

Of groups that finish on Sunday - Denmark would rank above if they don't lose at home v Romania, and Northern Ireland would if they don't lose in Norway.

Bosnia and Wales would need to win their last 2 games, whilst Iceland/Turkey/Croatia is complex.

I think Bosnia is they key one they need two wins to overhall us, unlikely but Belgium already qualified

The Sweden group is a big hope for us. Sweden have 10 points that count as of now, but still need to go to Holland. Even if they lose in Holland they'll finish second if they beat Luxembourg at home, but would be a point behind us.

Sweden take something in the Netherlands

Norn Iron take something in Norway

Bosnia beat Belgium AND Estonia

Wales beat Ireland AND Georgia

Denmark don't lose at home to Romania

We just need one of these NOT to happen
