I can understand if you like them, tennents isn’t going to be your first choice. You should reconsider what you like. No I shouldn't. I like a lot of beers. 5 minutes ago, jamamafegan said: I don’t mind yer hipster beers, it’s something a bit different and you gets some quality types. I just hate the c***s who think they are above Tennents. They think they are too good for a pint of vitamin T, they turn there nose up at it because they only drink IPA’s and Premium lagers. These guys can get to f**k. You go into a busy bar to get the round in - yer getting a Tennents. Aw c***s getting a Tennents and that will be that. I hate the folk who are inverse snobs about Tennents and think folk who prefer something over it are some sort of snobs. It's just beer.

It's just beer. Nah, you shouldn’t at all. The last line was just a throw away line. There’d be no discussion if we all liked the same. There’d be no square go’s offered over petty differences on here either (I’m looking at you, Morton thread)

BillyAnchor
Great thread, coming home for a wee visit this week and can't wait for a nice chilled pint of the T. Disappointed it took 11 pages to mention the old school cans with the dolly birds though.

resk
On landing at ABZ on Friday I nipped into 'Spoons for my semi-regular post-flight pre-taxi loosener. Inspired by the sparkling rhetoric on this thread in support of the 'Nents, I eschewed my usual hipster-ish choice and went for a pint of the old faithful plus a packet of S&V. I wasn't disappointed with the pint, but the total bill of £5.50 was a tad steep even for an airport boozer. 8 on 10, would order again.
Black Dug
Brought up on the stuff - having an old man who worked for the company helped! As I've grown older my tastes have changed and I favour more of the craft beers/hipster pish (I'm allowed to like ales being in my 40's now...).That being said, on a nice hot sunny day a nice cold pint of TL doesn't half hit the spot!
welshbairn
I see the Tennents brand is owned by a Dublin firm. Have @NorthernJambo and @Bairnardo been offered free Tea Towels from Div's stock?

All the refreshment without that horrid metallic aftertaste you get with the usual stuff.
mrcat1990
Out of curiosity does anyone else find loads of cans of Tennants gives them the Barry Whites? I once horrendously sharted myself a day after a night on the cans and I know a few others who have experienced similar.

Anyone know where one could purchase in either Aberdeen or Edinburgh?Out of curiosity does anyone else find loads of cans of Tennants gives them the Barry Whites? Not sure if they'd be able to do it outwith Glasgow actually as it's reliant on the beer being super fresh.

Yup, had the squits on wine and lager and a combination of both. I'm not really a spirit drinker but drink enough of whatever your preferred loud mouth soup is and its arsehole Niagra.

I don't think any particular brand is worse than anything else for affecting your stool. Maybe Buckfast. Not sure of the science behind it, I just know there's going to be issues with my behind. The other big side effect is the hangovers and there's definitely a difference there with what you pour down the entry hole. I'm lucky with hangovers but I remember drinking Oranjeboom and Amstel in Amsterdam in the early 90's and getting serious headaches. Newky Brown was the only thing that got me punchy so I stopped drinking it, I was only drinking it because I was a big Auf Weidersehen fan anyway. I'm definitely less ball bagged on a night on the lash after drinking The T than the 5% stuff but still able to reach my happy place.
