OK, OK, if you've been seen drinking Carling before then she might get the wrong end of the stick and jump to the wrong conclusions. I'm trying to meet you half way here, would a headlock be more acceptable than the hairy side of the hand ?

In Morrisons tonight down the lager aisle and I pick the 20 cans of T up (£14) and she fucking pipes up and says "the Carling's only £12" she doesn't understand

Well I'd be buying neither. Can't stick it from a can.

Needs to be served in a pub, poured decent into a glass with the fizzer at the bottom not worn away with a 1000 runs through the glass washer.

Try explaining that to some dumb bird behind the bar in The Foundry, see where it gets you.....

It looks like that was for the best, P & B seems to be moving away from the pie/size 11 interaction anyway.

Skol was everywhere on draft in Brazil. It’s the most popular selling lager over there apparently, which I found strange. I’ve never tried it over here, as I always just assumed it to be tramp juice.

Do they still make Skol over here? I thought it was one of those beers that just disappeared like Miller, Labbatts and McEwans Lager.

I’ve absolutely no idea. I just found it strange that it was in every pub and restaurant over there, having never actually recalled seeing it on tap over here. Always just assumed it was one of them lagers, that sells for about 40p a can in the supermarkets.

Not been to a nightclub in a while. Can't help but feel that my youth ended when they started serving cans of Red Stripe instead of Tennents. Don't get me wrong, was never a Tennents fanboy like some on here...but RS is grotesque. Almost tasted like it was brewed by a bunch of lazy, stoned islanders.

The Red Stripe in this country is a million times better than the original version in Jamaica. Probably the different water but I found the stuff over there to be brutal stuff, like some kind of very rough home brew.

there's always Rangers fans

I can't help but feel its a seismic shift though, back in the halcyon days, it was always the answer to any dilemma involving the fairer sex, now it seems any form of domestic violence is frowned upon. Where will it end, next thing, burds will be getting a vote, its not a world I would want to live in.

Well if they insist on never sampling the pleasure of Tennents, how are they supposed to keep their shefolk in line?

That Sir, is an excellent point although in fairness, other beverages can bring out the inner domestic tyrant too.
