A Photographic History Of Scottish Football

Recommended Posts

I looked into it, and after the death of Ian McMillan recently, Cormack was the 29th oldest person to play for Scotland, in terms of making his debut, not actual age. (1966 v Brazil).

Subsequently found out that Mick Cullen, George Herd and Ron Yeats who were ahead of him have also recently passed.

The "1st XI" is now:

Tommy Ewing, 1957, Wales

Denis Law, 1958, Wales

Frank Haffey, 1960, England

John Martis, 1960, Wales

Jackie Plenderleith, 1960, NI

Ralph Brand, 1960, NI

Johnny MacLeod, 1961, England

Pat Crerand, 1961, RoI

Ian Ure, 1961, Wales

Willie Henderson, 1962, Wales

Davie Holt, 1963, Austria

1956 must have been early days for goalkeepers wearing gloves?
