Apart from the obvious frustration of the penalties what disappointed me last night was the quality of our delivery into the box - our crosses were hit and hope with no one getting near them. Late on we had a corner from the right, can't remember who took it but it came over at around 20ft in the air and straight out for a goal kick. Only decent delivery was Robertson's free kick for McTominay's disallowed goal.

Apparently the right to paid bereavement leave is not so clear as you might expect. A friend's father died and he expected to get at least a few days off paid but his employer refused saying he would have to use annual holiday. He looked into this but it seems the employer was correct - paid bereavement leave only an entitlement in certain circumstances and surprisingly death of a parent isn't one of those. No surprise that he left that job soon after.

As teams get more accustomed to the pyramid system it will longer be possible to be a big fish in a small pond. Any team opting for such a strategy will be overtaken by bigger fish desperate to escape the small pond.

It's tight at the top but this weeks scores have swing it slightly in Buckie's favour. I expect both them and Brechin to win their remaining matches but Buckie look to have better options to improve their goal difference. It depends if Brechin have enough in the bag with their current +5 advantage.

Things that annoy or delight you on the telly right now

The whole court case scenario had me screaming at the TV. Surely the main prosecution witness working along side the murder victim's daughter wouldn't be allowed to happen in reality? The not proven verdict wasn't supported in any way by the script - the 'evidence' presented shouted 100% guilty. -
To me it sounds like a recipe for disaster and difficult for referees to manage. You can be sure managers/coaches/supporters watches will be running faster than the referee's and reintroduction of the binned player will become another, unnecessary source of contention. Might be feasible at higher level with 3/4 officials but a nightmare for the lone referee at grass roots level.

Finders Keepers with Neil Morrisey had a promising start on Channel 5 last night. Scope for a lot of twists as it progresses. -
Aparagus - just a bland, tasteless vegetable. I've never understood why Europeans, particularly Germans, get so excited about it. Some years ago I was in a restaurant in German at the start of 'asparagus season' and they had an entire specials menu based on it, even asparagus creme brulee as dessert.

I've heard this mentioned a few times and my instinct is that it would be difficult for referees to manage, particularly at grass roots level should it come to that. If a player is binned for 10 mins you can be sure when the that when their watch hits 9 mins the coaching staff are shouting for the player to get back on. Then you have to allow for stoppages within the 10 min period. To me it sounds like it would create more problems than it solves.

Surely scope to have a dead mouse in the trap to emphasise his anguish?

Would insurance even cover falling asleep while the chips (and everything else) burned?

On a similar line, people who stop and park their trolley just as soon as they've entered into a supermarket apparently unable to remember what they might be there for. Also, promotional displays as you enter the supermarket should be banned as it just encourages this behaviour.

TESCO self service check outs offer the option to top up your bill to the nearest 10p for unspecified good causes. I'm getting suspicious that a lot of my transactions come to £X.40 or £Y.90 before the top up. -

When I was old enough to legally go to pubs (late 80s) one of our group had a bit of a reputation as a round dodger. He'd take £20 out of the bank then at the end of the night go back and deposit what he hadn't spent. He banked with the TSB who at that time, and maybe still do, had a such a deposit option. Sure he was challenging himself to return as large a % of the initial £20 as he could get away with.
