The one city one club rule was absolished as early as 1961/62. Hearts and Hibs both participated that year, as did Barcelona and Espanyol and Inter and AC Milan. It didn't come under the auspices of UEFA until a decade later.

The UEFA website doesn't consider the tournament to have started until 1971/72, and the trophies are not listed as honours for any of the clubs who won it prior to that.

The one club one City rule denied Clyde a place in the 1967-68 tournament. In the previous season Rangers finished second in the league and Clyde in third. Rangers qualified as the highest finishers and Clyde were not allowed because of the one club one City rule.

Clyde were denied entry to the 1967-68 Fairs Cup as they finished third in the league in the previous season and because Rangers were second, they got the place. Clyde because they were another Glasgow team were not allowed to enter. I think 1961-62 was the only season when the rule was not enforced.

Next fixture is Kilmarnock facing up against Aberdeen on Sunday 4th November.  Inevitably this has been moved to 12.15 to allow for a UK wide television audience to enjoy the spectacle of Game Six.

Dom Thomas began his illustrious career at Celtic, before audaciously switching sides to fellow #TB4 behemoths Motherwell at the tender age of 14.  Fast forward seven years and he then signed for Kilmarnock - meaning that he has represented 75% of #TB4 by 22 years of age.

If Aberdeen swoop for the winger following his loan spell at Dumbarton, he could very well be known in the press as the Alexander the Great of #TB4.

He’s a winger?

We’ll take him!

If you knew Saint Steve you would know that’s the last place he’d go to.

Hmmm, if he was offered the Celtic job tomorrow he'd take it in a heartbeat IMO.

Only job I'd be remotely worried about him leaving for in Scotland and I include Scotland job in that.

Colin Meldrum played for Killie and Motherwell and is the Celtic under-20s goalkeeping coach. Wasn't he goalkeeping coach at Aberdeen for a while?

Not quite the clean sweep as a player, but definitely some solid #TB4 credentials

Definitely would've been a first choice keeper for any of the #W38 and would've then won multiple Scotland caps but he chose instead to stay with the big boys as a back-up for the majority of his career.

ETA - I don't blame him for that.  If he played from dross like Hearts or Hibs, for example, then based on the law of averages he would've suffered relegation at least once.
