Club Licence

Petershill would be an obvious possibility if floodlights and modern facilities on dressing rooms etc already need to be in place. Suspect there will be others who already have or are about about to put an application in that haven't been vocal about it yet, so it's only a matter of time until there are significant numbers involved across the junior grade. Once the SJFA committed to the pyramid there was nothing stopping this.

True... to an extent, it gives clubs a option of remaining in their current league IF the juniors successfully join the pyramid. Fail in this agenda and I think it would be quite difficult for licences to be granted without leaving the juniors. It does put more pressure on the SJFA to join up.

All that was involved previously was a commitment to the principle of progression. If the SJFA are actively negotiating their entry that's already done and dusted for junior clubs. Read the minutes of the PWG meetings that have been posted on here. The SFA CEO is very much on the SJFA's side on that being brought to a rapid conclusion.

Ian maxwell is in a position of very little power here, a couple of nods in agreement with TJ means f**k all in these negotiations.

And there's absolutely no way any club will be granted a licence playing outside of the pyramid. I'm near certain of that.

The Junior leagues are not part of the Pyramid as things stand, and there is no guarantee that they will be for next season given the issues raised at PWG, although there is no objections to the West coming in.

On that basis, and in the interests of consistency applied to other clubs applications, the SFA Board cannot progress these applications (and cash the cheques) until such times as the staus of each of the Junior leagues is confirmed.   It's a nice way for the SJFA to put pressure on Maxwell & Co though.

As soon as it was known someone was applying others were going to follow to avoid been left behind or by having their eyes opened it was easily attainable to them.

Or its just the clubs acting in their own interests, independent of everything else.

It could be, there's a lot of politics at play, the Cumnock Secty is also a past President of the SJFA.

And still currently sits on the west region committee I believe. I presume he is confident with the information given to west clubs to move forward with this rather than leaving for SOS. Wonder if an announcement might be forthcoming soon [emoji849]

Of course it’s not, they’ve been told to apply.

So it's NOT clubs listening to everyting going on, assessing it all and how it relates to their club and deciding it is in their best interests to apply.

It's clubs explicitly told to apply regardless if they want to or not.
