That goal was in no way Frankie’s fault.

Yeah, this - his team mate obviously takes a woeful touch and then he is stuck in a 2 v 1 and tried to delay as much as possible before trying to get across to make the block.

He actually made it pretty difficult for the guy in the end but it was a cracking finish. Sometimes that’s all you can do as a defender.

McGeady spent the whole of the first half and most of the second staring at his phone yesterday.

It’s getting quite funny the length people will go to to get at McGeady.

He might have been, but then someone else must have been staring at McGeady the entire game!

Tbf I've been guilty of that at some of our home games of late!

He was in our line of vision from the enclosure towards the railway end. Not remotely interested in the game.

Was that someone else a) paying to be there or b) being paid to be there?

Can't bring myself to be bothered with this, maybe if he was part of the coaching staff id like him to be watching.

The stories, always around McGeady are tiring at this point.

We’ll see what happens with him when the new manager comes in - I’m not really bothered either way.

I think he can still have an impact off the bench in certain games, whenever he is fit - it really depends what we are paying him whether it is worthwhile or not and what his contract looks like as obviously we have him a two year one which was pretty wild for a 37 year old off the back of two major injuries.

I suspect his contract is a pittance, but that's because his purpose ostensibly extends beyond being the tricksy guy in fives who was an absolute pler 15 years ago.

This makes the optics of what he's doing on the bench more rather than less important.

Again yes, this is a fanecdote, but those are what influence optics.

Yeah - unless something changes then all he can offer is a cameo appearance when we have all the ball and need a goal.

He offers absolutely zero off the ball, so needs to offer a lot on it to justify playing but he just hasn’t. He did have two goals in his last two without contributing much outwith that.

He wasn’t on the bench though - he was in the stand. He has some form of injury…
