If someone works out how to stop that I'm not sure what else it is he does. He was miles ahead of everyone in the Falkirk game, he stood out in the Dundee United game and was quiet in the Buckie game, he had 8 team mates in front of him for most of the game though. we beat Hamilton 2-0 another full time team, where he scored a goal, we weren’t over ran in midfield, a midfield with Dempsey and Rus in it, bearing in mind we had midfields over ran with Dempsey, Young and Syla last season. Is this some kind of edgy, Hipster thing you are pulling here Like saying the Beatles were overrated or something?
dam00114
Tbf we were miles too open in midfield against both Falkirk and Hamilton. This in part was due to Rus pulling wide left when we had the ball and leaving Dempsey to play midfield by himself at times when we got turned over. That's not a knock on Rus as an individual because he's clearly been given license by coaches to do so and is quality on the ball, but not sure it is sustainable against better teams who can exploit the space left in midfield. Long term I think he ends up LM/LW or we drop a striker for new CM and give him more freedom as a 10 with an extra body to screen in behind him

In build up for sure Dempsey drops between the CBs but he pushes higher when get into the opposition half. 3 times vs Hamilton Rus pulled wide, the attack broke down, and Hamilton only needed to bypass Dempsey to attack the back 4. Tonnes to be positive about but worth noting that across Hamilton and Falkirk games the opposition hit the woodwork 5 times. The breaks have gone our way as much as we've played good football at times. This game concerns me tonight cause I think Airdrie will carve through us if we are as open in midfield. Just my opinion of course

muZZa__44
been thinking how we line up for a while and decided to go with this Bench: Russell, McAllister, Watret, Syla, Tomlinson, Walker, Hastie, McKenzie, Bryden i wouldn't throw Watret straight back in especially against their left hand side with Hancock and obviously i would put Murphy in to start instead of Hastie (had also toyed with playing McKenzie on the right to add a bit more defensive to the right but don't see him dropping Henderson) Edited August 9 by muZZa__44
