The league hasn’t been great for a few years now, we’ll before this current set up. Promoted teams had went straight up from the district league to premier for 3 seasons in a row!

It’s been a very tight league that’s undeniable. The promotion and relegation issues have always gone to the wire. Your point about promoted teams going straight up doesn’t change that fact.

I will and do agree the league has been tight and competitive but I’m unsure how strong it has been when this was happening.

I actually think promoted teams coming up and doing well is actually a contributory factor in the league being tight. We have it again this season, with four of the current top six being promoted sides.

Maybe so but it looks like it is harder to get promotion from the league below than it is to be mid table in this league!

Promoted teams probably find it easier to hold a squad together and have a winning mentality. Teams in the league above who miss out on promotion or have struggled to avoid relegation often make wholesale changes to their squads and it can take a while for them to gel as a team. We should know that having experienced both scenarios repeatedly over the past few years.

22 points out 24 to start the league season, and 34 goals scored in our 8 games. Hard to grumble.

Normally with that sort of start you'd expect to have a decent lead, but Benburb and Rossvale are right on our tails, with Cumbernauld and Whitletts not too far behind that.

No complacency allowed at our end, we did a professional job today. We weren't at our best, but we picked the strongest team available and got the job done comfortably before wrapping players up for future games.

No doubt Glens are up there with the best in the league and would be very surprised if they don't go up however it was 2-0 until midway into the 2nd half today and Larkhall having missed a couple of decent chances to get back into the game and then they hit the self destruct button again losing 2 soft goals from their point in the space of a minute. But they will get there  Rome wasn't built in a day and the corner will be turned at some point hopefully soon.

Good to see your praise of Larkhall.

Credit where it's due,  everyone is working their socks off and improvement is there for all to see.
We were commenting on that during the game today, Larkhall were a much better side today than the one we met on the first day of the Sectional League Cup. They seem to have added a few older heads.

While there's no doubt that Glens were easily the better side on the day,Larky did indeed have a number of scoring chances which has got to provide them with some encouragement. As for the self destruct button, well,I think we should take the boy Barclay's (ex-Wishy player ) injury which resulted in the defensive rejig into consideration in that regard.

Larky fielded some decent players in this game and if they can strengthen in mid field then I don't think they'll take too many doings from the teams around them in the league in the coming weeks.

Big Johns injury was definitely a loss as he was the leader on the park,so hopefully he will not be out too long (hamstring injury) If we had scored right on halftime it might of been a different scenario in the 2nd half as it would've gave the lads confidence, but as we all know when confidence levels are down it's an entirely different ball game
However watching the performance on Saturday there is light at the end of the tunnel, and it was great to see the players come into the clubhouse after the game and all mix together

As said previously the league is definitely split in two and the team has changed almost completely from the league cup and first three or four league games the time to be judged is when they have played with all due respect the teams that are in the bottom half of the league. Two or three wins and you are back in the mix rather than being isolated at the foot of the table. Difficult task as it is a very competitive league but its not unachievable and they will not be a million miles away.
