What's going on with Armstrong at Southampton? Missing from the matchday squad tonight, as he was for their last Premier League game.

Dropped and presumably out of favour as he's not injured. Armstrong started the first game and was then benched for next two games. He only got a few minutes when he came on. Southampton are doing better without him so he could be stuck in the stands for a while.

Why can’t Armstrong get a game for Southampton isn’t in the squad today

Hughes has preferred Elyounoussi since the second league game of the season. His fee was £16 million compared to Armstrong's £7 million.

Also fair fucks to Troy Deeney for ripping into that lord and saviour Gareth Southgate, who Sky have pumped as "giving every player hope".

Deeney says he's no hope of a call up, as even though he's playing and scoring he still can't picked ahead of Rashford, purely because Rashford is young and playing at a big club.

Deeney would do well in that England team as well as a lone striker. Fits the bill in a lot of ways. They're playing Big Sam style win free kicks/corners and go for the set piece style football.

Kane's a better player but Deeney will just body opposition defenders and hold the ball up well which suits their direct play.

Ex-scum bag. I like him. Realised he was turning into a wrong 'un and turnt himself around and gives up a fair bit of his time and money to help others to do the same. Isn't shy about his past either. Owns up to his mistakes and tries to make amends.

Also like the way he's loyal to Watford for sticking with him. Knockee back moves to bigger clubs when he was doing well and didn't force a move out when he got dropped and fought to get back in the team.

Shit tattoos tho

spot on. i said the same thing about Glen Murray the other day. his game is perfectly suited for the way GS has his teams set up. Murray has more chance of shitting a gold bar than ever playing for england though. same goes for deeney.
