Really? According to Ewan Murray the crop of players we have now are no better than 10 years ago

An incredible take from him.

Ah see the problem you have there is you've read an article written by Ewan Murray

I would suggest not doing that

Almost exactly 10 years ago we actually beat Croatia 2-0, albeit it was a dead rubber.

You could make a case for a few of those players getting into the current team, but we're clearly stronger now.

Allan McGREGOR

Alan HUTTON

Charlie MULGREW

Russell MARTIN

Grant HANLEY

Barry BANNAN

Scott BROWN (C)

James MORRISON

Steven NAISMITH

Robert SNODGRASS

Ikechi ANYA

Still, somehow people forget just how fecking good Hutton was at his peak - for a couple of years he was one of the best fullbacks on the planet.

Hutton was pretty good for us for a long time, but I'm struggling to think of a period in his career where this could even be remotely true. He had a brilliant six months with Rangers before he got the move to Spurs, then did alright there initially before his club career basically bombed.

I wouldnt bring any of those players into the present side, not even the "Scottish Cafu" (he's probably the closest but Hickey is already better).

Snodgrass was a decent player - seemed to get injured at a key time in his career.

Ikechi Anya. That is a blast from the past.

He started brightly, but faded away almost as quickly as he arrived.
