DutchBorderer
Quote A light plane with new Premier League footballer Emiliano Sala on board has disappeared in the English Channel while travelling from France to Wales. The 28-year-old Argentine was on his way to meet his new colleagues at Cardiff City after signing for the club last week in a £15 million deal. He was travelling back to Wales from Nantes in Brittany after signing with the Welsh club. There were "genuine concerns" for his safety today after the Piper Malibu plane registration PA 46 went off radar screens close to the Channel Islands. https://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/46960095

Aye, didn't see that as I never check the Premier League thread. Figured it was worth a thread (and in all honesty that might be better considering the level of patter going on).
Savage Henry
Emiliano Sala and the Missing Plane is either a Texan folk band, or a very good Tintin adventure.

I was thinking when I clicked the thread that it sounded like the name of a TinTin adventure.

I would assume that, at such transfer sums, some form of insurance must be involved. Interesting footnote to the sad overall story.

JamieStevenson
Same plane he took for his Cardiff to Nantes flight. Allegedly he told one of his Nantes teammates that the 1st flight was very bumpy and that he feared for his safety for the return back to Cardiff.

Dee Man
Just heard a bizarre Whatsapp audio message from Sala sent to family and friends in Argentina during the flight. I can't find a transcript of it anywhere but it started with, "I'm dead", followed by him sounding pissed off about things then went on about the plane falling apart and people having to come searching for him as if he was resigned to crashing. He finished by saying "I'm scared, dad". Eery as f**k. Apparently the plane was owned by the exceptionally unlikeable football agent, Willie McKay.
Zen Archer (Raconteur)
This hasn't been plane sailing for poor Emiliano.
