He's the sort of player that you love to have in your team but hate playing against you. Hits the deck at every opportunity and wins so many free kicks and penalties. An asset at any level. Buchanan has been playing pretty well recently. Faded towards the end of the game yesterday but was decent enough - wasn't the worst player on the park. Eh, we did start with Henvey... I agree with your point about Bollan's tactics though. He chops and changes the team far too much and doesn't have a plan B (not that plan A is up to much). The players are only in training twice a week which isn't enough time to work on a new system and formation every other week. It's different if the team are full time and can work on that 4 days a week but 4 hours a week isn't enough. He needs to work out his best 11 and stick with it. Renton will win balls in the air but that's not his strength - he is better with the ball at his feet. Cox/Allan/Henvey aren't going to win much in the air so why do we continue to punt the ball forward? Renton is undervalued by Cowden fans. Yes, he should score more goals but he contributes far more than he is given credit for. Won the penalty against Rangers, won the penalty against Edinburgh City, set up Cox yesterday. He's a handful for defenders. How is he expected to hang onto a ball that is fired above his head. The only thing he can do is flick it on. Kris Renton is not the problem. Problem for Renton is that he is usually up against two or three opposition players every time the ball is punted in his direction. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Renton fan, but he is up against it. A big punt up the park is an out for defenders, however, if your passing is poor, as it has been recently and particularly yesterday where many passes were either overhit or behind players that's how we'll be playing and hoping for a defensive mistake. Not pretty to watch. And Henvey never got one pass anywhere near him. He was the fastest player on the park too, we should be able to make use of that. And we should be using that to our advantage. If he is drawing defenders away, there is space for our players.
JakeSAFC
Good result. Thought we were pretty good yesterday, Callum Ferrie's save was immense. Having watched the highlights back still think its just a yellow Daz should recieve tbh.

I thought at the time that the sending off was soft and the highlights don't clear it up either way - bit too far away. Buchanan was straight back up afterwards and didn't milk it. Was impressed with Rutkiewicz yesterday. In constant communication with his players and organising throughout the game. Yeah, we started with Henvey and took him off for the player he should start with, Allan. When they were both on against Sevco, they were causing mayhem. He was chasing lost causes yesterday. As for Renton, he is poor with the ball at his feet as well. The rare occasion when he actually tried to win the ball back from the Stirling player, he almost pulled his hamstring. If we are going to use him, we would be better with him playing between the midfield and front two of Henvey and Allan. He could knock the ball on to them. The problem then is where do we play Cox? Could he play in the middle? How about a 3-4-1-2 formation.
Cowden Cowboy
Playing Rangers is very different from a standard L2 game - Rangers give you more time to play. They outfootball you while in L2 teams generally outfight each other!
iateallthepies
A shame Sheerin fluffed his lines when he came on,but we do look more like scoring when he is on the park.Referee was terrible, I have never seen him have a decent game.Stirling took their chances and defended well but we were devoid of ideas as to how to break them down, just a really poor lacklustre performance.
