Shankland will never play for Scotland. That's my conclusion from years of watching him at Championship level.

It's as clear as day when a player comes by in the Championship that has the ability to go on and play for Scotland. It was obvious with Griffiths, McNulty and McGinn (and Scougall tbf) that they would go on and play for us one day. Not Shankland. He's just average.

He's just turned 23 and has only played a couple of seasons at Championship level, so thank Christ you're not scouting for the national side.

Come to think of it, maybe you are.....................

Yet he prob outscored all off them there already including the thumb no doubt got more assists to than all off them

McNulty did you actually watch the San Marino game and his finishing?

Bet you here and now if Lawrence ends up at Hearts and he stays at Hibs that Shanks will out score him

Shanklund has outscored McNulty in less time not sure how many Gritthias got cos one seasons Hibs were down but that is still three seasons to one season Lawrence has had in that league

So your he will never play for Scotland remark is utter noncence especially that he scored few times in under 21 team to hopefully meaning step up us not beyond him

35 goals in 89 Championship games. At 23 years old.

McNulty 35 in 91. Left aged 21

Griffiths  43 in 94. Left aged 20.

Lawrence got 21 goals and season has not finished only had one season in that league

Other guys had 5 and 3 seasons to come up with there fairly unimpressive halls and played in much better higher standard richer teams

And 31 games 31 goals if you count cup games this year

Utter disgrace he never got a turn out against San Marino would easily bagged a hat trick

Shankland is in his 3rd Championship season champ.  His career didn't start the second he joined Ayr.

And McNulty played for a gash Livinsgton team fighting relegation mate. Stop talking out yer flange

Rack the goals he got on loan then in with this year them and it will still blow McNulty out the water

Clarke is just another Burley waiting to happen

Another doar Ayrshireman who gets good results early doors ends up in Scotland job completely our there depth

Been a reason why Clarke has been a number 2 for most his career

So because Clarke spent years as an assistant learning the trade under successful managers before going on to doing pretty well at West Brom and exceptionally well at Kilmarnock means that he wouldn't be a good pick for Scotland? You're spouting utter nonsense.

Nobody has said he is better. But he would got capped especially when he was banging goals in for Rangers on first spell and when he was playing abroad

Anybody suggesting otherwise really needs to give there skull and massive wobble

Lafferty never really banged the goals in though did he? Only once at Rangers did he get double figures and his spells abroad weren't much better apart from a decent season in Series B.

Really pretty sure he is holding out for a move to Rangers

Sounded that way on off the ball, and he never ruled out Celtic either

Guys my mate and cousins neighbour and stays round corner from my sister my family know them all quite well

He's a Rangers fan so of course he would like to play there. He'd probably sign for Celtic if they came in but don't try and act ITK because he's your cousins neighbour or whatever. It's just plain stupidity.

This seems to be Shankland's third season in the Championship. So, several seasons then.

He didn't play for Dunfermline in the Championship.

He had one full season on loan at St Mirren where he did pretty well.

He then had a season split between St Mirren and Morton where he was pretty shite.

This is his 3rd season in the Championship and whilst he's on fire he shouldn't be in the Scotland squad and while we're at in neither should Dobbie. However no one can say in any certainty that he won't get a call up in the future if he goes down south and keeps scoring.

2009 - 2011 Livi were in League 1 and he never really played that many games

2011 - 2014 Livi were in the Championship

So he had 3 seasons in the Championship

Should McNulty ?

He had a good season in League 2 for Coventry and got a move to Reading off the back of that but has failed to hold down a place, hence the move to Hibs. Yes he has had a good start in terms of goalscoring since he joined Hibs, however is this enough to merit a call up ???

Yes I'd say he's worthy of a call up. He's in excellent form and where he had played in the past shouldn't really come in to the debate. It's all about how he's playing right now.
