Virtual Insanity
Actually think the second goal was the one Bain had the least chance with, he's out fairly quickly and makes himself big but the guy finishes it well. Bain's fault there is that he doesn't appear to give Shinnie any sort of shout whatsoever, albeit Shinnie should be doing a whole lot better. Bain's main issue for me is his footwork, which is why he doesn't seem to dive for a bizarre number of shots. On the first and third goal he is completely off balance when the shot/header comes in. On the first that might be understandable as the guy hits it early (although his movement coming out and retreating doesn't help him) but on the third he can see the contact coming a mile off and he isn't set. Similar issues to those that Gary Neville highlighted on Mingolet. Hoping the coaching at Celtic can improve this but seems unlikely to be something you can improve drastically at Bain's age.
parsforlife
As said our goalkeeping options are pretty shit just now especially when put up against a decade of having 3 good options. That said Bain has absolutely won a watch to be in the current place in his career, he's a mid-table championship keeper IMO.He's pretty agile and reasonable reactions meaning he does pull off some quality reaction save, however I can't help but feel half the saves he gets praise for are just making up for him being positioned wrongly/not being set in the first place. Being relatively small for a modern keeper also sees him make more saves at full extension compared to others. With no Gordon/mcgregor or Marshall. Zander Clark should be getting the spot.

Gunn don't want to know so aye give Clarke a chance especially if we ever go three at back he is a massive man and would come for crosses and take pressure of the defenders
BoydiesBelly
Just watched the Football League Trophy Final there. We need to cap the lad MacGillivray ASAP. Was excellent, Pompey fans rave about him and there's not much doubt he'll be playing at a much higher level before much longer. Wales make a good job of capping anyone and everyone eligible that shows any sort of promise. While we're at it, what's Emilio MacEachen up to these days?
Derry Alli
He's the best we've got available. I'd have him ahead of Gordon when he's back to full fitness, too.
senorsoupe
There are a lot of good young (ish) Scottish goalies out there that deserve a cap, Liam Kelly has been impressive for Livi this season while Zander Clark is getting better and better plus this MacGillivray guy sounds promising

We don't we are meant to pick the best players on form And the best for the job would say Marshall has the experience and should still get a crack of the gloves still got a few good seasons in him

How is Marshall's form, out of interest?

I don't know not watched Hull in a while But letting us take shagger prob tells you what you need to know about his form Aye I like experience with a keeper they get better and make key saves like Shagger in Isreal game
Derry Alli
Is this always the standard of discussion in this part of the board? "We should pick players on form, like Marshall!" How is Marshall's form? "f**k knows. Haven't seen him play in a while".

Actually it's about who is the best keeper and that clearly is Marshall nothing against Bain but he is no Marshall or Gordon fair does though that he has took his shirt for now
red23
Bain is a horrific keeper, remember Celtic had Zalukska playing a few games a few seasons back. It doesn't make him good and he will be found out for sure. He fails to save shots i'm confident Gordon or McGregor would save. That being said If Celtic stick with him next year i will be delighted.

Look at the guy's attempts at written English for example.

He's the same listed height as Allan McGregor, although sometimes the listed height was taken when they first turned pro at 16.
