Popular Post HibsFan
...Albert Kidd Day on this fine May morning. Though I think the spirit of the day has been lost somewhat in the commercialisation of the holiday, we should still take some time out of our day to remember its true meaning. The 3rd of May 1986 could've been a day cemented in Hearts, and indeed Scottish football, folklore forever. Instead, it's cemented in my wankbank. Here are a few of my favourite photos from the glorious afternoon in question. You might be wondering where current Hearts manager and perennial trophy virgin Craig Levein is in that last photo. He isn't in it, but don't worry, I've found one of him in the archives. Unquestionably the greatest day in Hibs' proud 144 year history. God bless Albert Kidd, Dundee Football Club, Glasgow Celtic Football Club, the nation of Australia and the Footballing Gods for that simply GLORIOUS afternoon. We will always remember, you will never forget. Off to open presents with the kids now.

Always wanted to know, was there any reason for Motherwell being in their away strip for this game? Was it next season's and they were modelling it like some clubs do?

Well known Blue nose referee Bobby Tait was retiring at the end of that season and had made an informal request to have his final game at Ibrox Unbeleivably he was allocated this one, being before the advent of social media and forums like this it almost went un-noticed, a fairly unspectacular game was fizzling out to a 0-0 draw with Rangers, only a point behind Celtic in the title hunt having toiled in front of goal, McCoist in particular had one of those rare days when he couldnt buy a goal, missing a couple of sitters. Then it gets interesting, despite neither physio being on Bobby Tait's Magic Watch* conjured up about six minutes stoppage time, in the last of said added on minutes, after another failed set piece with nearly everyone in the Kilmarnock box Rangers were hit on the counter and an unmarked Ally Mitchell hammered a fatal nail in Rangers 10-in-a-row coffin Karma..... *Google 'Bobby Taits Magic Watch' Edited May 3, 2019 by Flybhoy

As a neutral id love to see a Dundee derby in the play off but, your lot aren't even going to make 11th it looks like.
