bobthespider
That legendary team had a couple of seasons with Stark before the promotion year as I recall. The memorable long run of wins only started the week after Millen joined. Paul Harvey was the most gifted player I can ever recall playing for us. Maybe there's no good guys left who just want to play for the sake of plalying?David Anderson for me ...in my best 11 ever

He was constantly getting the other defenders into the right positions. He brought Ricky Little on leaps and bounds.

an86
What we making of that decade then? One of our players becoming a Champions League winner and Scotland captain, another of his teammates becoming an international. Bizarre spectacle of playing the Rangers in League Two, a league that we may have won but for the ridiculous circumstances. A crushing inability to win playoffs. Being locked in a social club and police escorted out of Prestonpans. Having the lowest point in our modern history by finishing a distant bottom, whilst playing our home games 12 miles away. Letters being sent out to supporters for invading the pitch when Darren Miller thundered in an injury time winner at Gretna. A rare semi final appearance. Finally winning a promotion playoff against Clyde two seasons after finishing rock bottom, sealing it with what is probably the most spectacular strike ever hit by a Queen's Park player. Our highest league position in a generation after being in with a shout of the playoffs in League One until late on. Turning 150 years old. Relegation. Having our own national association threatening our existence and blackmailing us into selling our stadium on the cheap. Seeing off the Welsh champions in what has become the most ridiculous competition in world football. Scoring seven goals in a game. Turning professional after 152 years of amateur status. Being bankrolled by one of the richest people in Scotland. Not much, apart from that.

an86
It wasn't working. Nice guy and wish him every success for the future. Now go and give Billy Stark exactly what he wants and give him the keys to the club from top to bottom.
houstonspider
Led a charmed life. A few decent results following several poor runs of games seemed to buy him time but the overall record speaks for itself. The team consistently underperformed. Didnt seem capable of setting a team up to not lose. Not many draws in the record. When he was first appointed Ayr fans came on here and told us what to expect and they weren't wrong. Iam sure he will be back in football at Junior level in the future.
the_bully_wee
Wasn't it as recently as November that the sun shone out of Roberts' arse in most QP fans' eyes? It brings me absolutely no pleasure whatsoever to issue a big "I told you so" on this one!

When a departure is by mutual consent I sense that there is a plan brewing. Whilst I championed Mark on several occasions I have to admit that it was just not progressing as we would have wished. Latterly he was reminding me of Johnny Harvey, ex Berwick, with both his pre and after match interviews. Exactly the same every week. I wish him well and hope he finds a football future.
Muzza81
Massive appointment for you. Hope you make it a good one tbh. One of the few weegie clubs I wouldn’t want to see go down (along with Albion).

He's 63, I think. He might see it as a last chance to get his teeth into a project. It's an attractive job now. Haughey connection from his time at Celtic as well. I reckon we'll ask him the question. He ticks so many boxes.

QPSpider1867
Mixed feelings today. I liked Mark a lot and we’ve had some excellent results under his management. Early league cup and league results injected optimism but the season has sadly flopped. I imagine the plan is to spend some coin on a more experienced manager who’s ready to sign talent and improve the current crop of players. Hopefully this decision is right and we can push on. Managers will come and go but we’ll follow every Saturday. Mon eh Queens [emoji835]️[emoji836]️
