Rugster
Another shout for Steve Paterson's here. Merson's is not bad too.
Cosmic Joe
One that hasn't been mentioned is Sean Fallon's biography. Really good insight into the Stein years at Celtic
Oscar P
Already mentioned above - the Tony Cascarino book Full Time is excellent. Didn't have high hopes for it but really enjoyed it.
Busta Nut
only one I haven't seen mentioned I liked was Jamie Carragher's book. I hated the c**t and bored in an airport one day I bought it and read it. It was good. He's still a c**t.

I don't want to single him out unfairly as he's an excellent player and most footballers are fairly boring, but other than Celtic-daft children who need encouraged to read more, I can't imagine who would want to read that. And those that do would just shoplift them anyway

I got him to sign my copy at the stadium and had a decent chat with the guy. Really enjoyable read.
ArabGaz
A Life Too Short (Tragedy of Robert Enke) by Ronald Reng is incredibly sad but well worth a read.
Miguel Sanchez
As far as I can remember I've read three: George Best, Billy McNeill and Alex Ferguson (an older one, about ten years ago at least). Best's was decent, from what I recall. If you fancy branching out into other sports I can't recommend The Game by Ken Dryden highly enough. Imagine a sportsperson who can actually string a sentence together wrote a book, and there you go.

NE63 exile
I can vouch for Cacarino's and Micky Thomas's book as great reads too.
BigBo10
Roy Keane. The book written about Robin Friday is decent too. Full of sanctimonious bullshit. Roy Keane’s autobiography confirms the well established principle that he’s a fud.
Monkey Tennis
Most football autobiographies are terrible, terrible reads - ghosted rubbish fleshed out with chapters of 'Best XI played with or against'. Ones where the 'writer' was a madcap character are the worst of the lot. Ferguson's was rubbish, Nobby Stiles' was reasonable and Des McKeown's was surprisingly humbling. The revelation in Cascarino's wasn't significant in terms of his eligibility for Ireland. He'd have been able to play, even if it had been revealed before.
Dan Steele
The Unstoppable Keeper by Lutz Pfannenstiel is a great read. Often hilarious and proof that goalies are a different lot. Worth getting just for the penguin story.
The Naitch
Add me to the list of fans of the Steve Paterson one. Great read. Jimmy Armfield's is enjoyable as well.
