Anyhow, it's a pain in the ass paying on Alibaba so I'll give it a swerve. The advantage of the cheapo store is at least you can have a rant at them if it's shite.

I would say all things being equal, if this wasnt the emergency it is, it probably would have put me off work for 2 days tops. Maybe not even. Its very unpleasant but it's not flu. But given the policies being implemented across the UK is based on the same medical advice and uses the same data, there’s precisely no chance Scotland will embark on different policy than England. The fact they are creating a field hospital in the Excel Centre, and not the SECC, suggests that certain bits of the UK are being treated differently already. And quite rightly, given the differences in where Scotland and London are on the curve.

They'd probably shoot me here if I tried! Seriously though, here it's a waste of time trying to argue about sub-standard products - it's pretty much the case that once you've bought it it's yours and your problem. The 7-day return policy kinds exemplifies this.

I would agree,it’s the not knowing what the next few days have in store.Trying to stay positive has been/is really important for me as I’ve had issues in the past.

Supermarkets work on 'just in time' deliveries (afaik) to avoid having enormous stock rooms. They've got it down to a fine art. It doesn't bear thinking about if this Covid had happened after a hard brexit with delays at the border. These stupid panicking bastids would really have fcked us you all up in a far worse fashion. Look to the future, it's only just begun. Edited March 26, 2020 by cyderspaceman forgot where I live
pub car king
Its definetly not as bad as flu, I've not been laid up with up it as such. At first I thought it was just a bad cold. The pish situation i think is a number of factors. You need more fluids with these sorts of things, i had been sweating like f**k and i have been taken scorching hot baths for the aches. Hoping it'll even itself out.

Two of the grandsons have asthma and I worry about them. One of them in particular is very lax about taking his inhaler. There's another grandson with Crohn's. A step son has a mysterious chest complaint that has never been got to the bottom of, and he's still at work and travelling all over the place, afaik. One of the granddaughters has a low immune system. I've a stepdaughter who is 8 months + pregnant. I've a niece who has cancer. I'm sure we've all got similar tales to tell. I think in a fortnight we'll know better the way things are going. What's his job? Any 'mystery' illness should be checked against Lyme disease IMO.

And quite rightly, given the differences in where Scotland and London are on the curve. In more normal times, I’ve mentioned London in threads on here for different reasons. The NFL thread, because I go down twice a year for games. The travel thread, because my brother lives in Ascot, and we fly to London to see him. My view on the place, at the best of times, is that after three days max’ down there, I am absolutely gagging to come home. Our cities feel like villages, our traffic jams are a walk in the park, up here you can breathe, down there, everything is just, well, mental. I can only handle it for a few days at a time. We were down a few weeks ago. A walk down Ascot high street - looking at the prices for houses in estate agent windows. Mental, scary. Not even the posh places, a flat in Bracknell or somewhere.... because there’s a train to London from it. Every aspect of life down there, feels like millions of people running around hamster wheels compared to here. Not for me, not all the time. Never been so glad to be here, and not there, as right now. Edited March 26, 2020 by pozbaird
